new DangerDen Block, 125$$?!?!

Welp, I just bought one. :) I couldn't resist. It was like $110 with the 10% off $100 or more discount they have going roght now.

I'll post pics when I get it if anyone's interested.

I wish the ones they were selling had the neon green lucite like the pictures posted in this thread.

What GPU block can be used on the 6800 GT insteaf of this massive DD beast?

But hey look since I know so little and you seem to know so much why don't you go and sell a knock off of the DD block for less, you're sure to make a bundle if its as easy as you say and DD is ripping people for as much as you guys think.

Oh my gosh, you really don't know who BillA is, do you  ?

No he doesnt...but Ill go ahead and give him a heads up :p
Bill works at swifty and knows his shit :)

I plan on eventually upgrading to a 6800 GT and then buying a $5 adaptor plate for the Twinplex block that I have on order and rigging it up. It won't cool the ram, but I'll just stick on some ramsinks... don't see the point in that large ultra-expensive block. Sure it's nice, but it looks like people's OC's (At least on the GT's, from what I've read) have been limited by voltage (Can be raised but makes it unstable) and not so much temperature. To me it looks like any waterblock or a good air solution (Like the new Arctic Silencers) should do... if I had an extra $125 to spend I'd buy an Ultra and be done with it.

Since he works for Swiftech, hows about getting them to make a GPU+RAM cooler for the NV40/R420 series.

I have a question for you guys that WC the RAM:
any links to a test(s) where a before and after test was run where the ONLY change fas to add WCing to the RAM ?

I know there is a benefit to WCing the GPU, but is there an actual need to WC the RAM ?

I design and test hardware, not a OCer or gamer so have little experience pushing video cards.

When my NV-68 comes in I'll try and do a little memory overclock testing for you to see if it actually makes a difference. :)

looks like the only thing i'd use on a 6800, you simply cant say anything else would cool the card better imo

So anyone else here order one or am I the only one looking for e-pen0s enhancement? :D

probley, im gonig to get swiftec's block, and use the 6800 attachment, put on copper ram coolers, and put a Vantec Card Cooler below the 6800 so it blows cool air from the bottom of the case onto the ramsinks. Total cost, 50$

Alright when i ordered up my Maze 4 my engineering teacher who does CNC and owns his own machine shop was like holy ****. He's like that must of set you back like 200 bucks. The quality of there machining / CNC is so awesome I would easly pay 125 if I had it laying around for that. Then again I would have to buy the 400 dollar card first. But anyways If you dont think this thing is worth atleast 125 you crazy try doing it yourself. ROFL. :)

lol, maze 4 200$..

meh, I think the swiftec block with 6800 adapter will do wonders.

you're engineering teacher needs a lesson in manufacturing, high quantity, lower costs.

if you made just one Maze4, you can expect that kind of price, for materials, labor, turning, setup, design, time spent on machine..

Do you know if that block fits the tubing of a Koolance WC system?
I'm thinking about picking up a Koolance system, but I want to be 100% sure it'll work flawlessly on both my cpu and gpu.

I believe Koolance uses 3/8, not sure, but the danger den block for the 6800 can come with 1/2 or 3.8 fittings, so it should fit.

Got mine on Saturday, and it is one bad@$$ WB. Pictures really don't do it justice. When I saw they were $125, I thought no f'in way I'm paying that, but by the time I bought a swiftech, it was going to cost me almost $65 with all the adapters and fittings and the block. So I figured what the heck. There won't be any benefit to water cooling the ram, as it doesn't get that hot, but the thing just looks sweet. I'll post pics if I can, along with my before and after oc's. And to whoever said DD priced themselves out of the market, apparently you didn't notice they sold out almost immediately after they put them up for sale.

I think I'll be going the way of the Swiftech block and the 6800 adapter for my Shuttle WC setup :)

Got mine today!

All I can say is WOW! DD goes all out (they should for the price lol). Not only does this block SCREAM quality, but they've even lapped/polished the contact surfaces to a mirror finish.

Oh and they give you a tube of Arctic Silver Ceramiqe! That shit costs you like $8 + shipping normally. :D

Unfortunately I don't think I can test 'er out yet. Some kinda bug grabbed me by the balls this morning and now I'm sick as a dog and getting sicker. :( I hope I feel better tomorrow. :(

I got mine installed tonight, and I stand corrected. Apparently water cooling the ram does help, cause I went from 1.14 to 1.18 on the mem. My core oc went from 420 to 440, 51C under load and 47C at idle. A little higher than I would have thought for water cooling, but still a damn site better than the 71C under load with the stock cooler. I'm now almost positive it's the heat holding these cards back, at least in my case. Before, I could run at 425/1.15, but I'd start getting artifacts and lockups after the card heated up (usually during the nature test in 3DM03). With the water cooling, I'm doing 440/1.18 and I never get artifacts, even after several loops of 3DMark03. Now it's time to get some more voltage going through this thing and see what it can really do. ;)

That's 3/8 hoses and 1/4 fittings for Koolance IIRC. The DD 6800 block has 1/2 and 3/8 fittings. Although you can buy 1/4 fittings, that should fit the block, on their website.

My swify block took it to 480 core, with the stock ramsink/heatpipe with card cooler took the ram to 1.3. Idles at 49

Probly just a difference in our WC setup though

ne1 want to buy my block... i dont have enough room inside the case for it.... never installed...

:-P

How much? I have no need for it now, but mabey in the near future... But post what ya want for it incse some one else is interested

115 shipped... since i never installed it... just took it out.. looked at it... put it by my case... said oh shit... and realized it wouldnt fit with my pump right below it

innovatek has 3/8 , i was looking at that one as well and was about to order but then read somewhere (i don't remeber exactly where) that someone had it and it had 3/8 fittings on it , thats the main reason i went with the DD Block, i needed 1/2.

White Water block!!!!!!!!!!!!

or Cascade, but if you can find a cascade you should just tell me where so I can buy it, cuz you're not gonna find em anywhere :(.

Anyways, just following the trend lol
