hi im running a pc that i built off of newegg.com. i have an AMD 3200+ venice athlon 64 ADA3200BPBOX, bfg tech geforce4 motherboard, corsair xms 1 gig 2x512 pc3200, xfx geforce 6800gs, soundblaster audigy 2 zs soundcard, 250gig harddrive by western digital. its all running on windows xp home edition with sp2. im not posting this to brag, im posting to see if there is a compatability problem. my problem is i have it running for a while and it starts to bog down and the cpu usage peaks at 100% after about a half hour. its protected by systemworks 2004 and ad-aware se professional, i ran full system scan and the only problems i got were from gamespy spyware, and i have the lastest virus updates, and nothing was detected, i cant find anything else wrong. if you have any ideas on what could be wrong let me know because im not too happy about spending 2000 dollars on a computer and not being able to use it i thank you if you know whats wrong if we cant come to any conclusions im going to send my processor and ram back rma. thanks for the time and help.

What's the power supply?

And did you check task manager to see if any program is using an absurd amount of CPU usage?

when you hit ctrl+alt+del go to the process tab you will see a column that says CPU, that way you can see what is taking up your cpu cycles and let us know what program it the culprit.

i opened the processes and the only thing that usually eats up cpu is xfire, firefox and most of all system idle process eats up alot and my powersupply is an aspire 500 watt. my friend and i have built numerous computers for our friends and they work great but when we get to building mine it has problems... i tried windows repair but im not sure how to use it...
