new computer won't post...

recently got my new computer put together but when i go to power it on, it doesnt post. everything else powers up just fine, the fans work and spin, the hdd spins, the cd-rom powers up and opens and closes but i get no post on my screen. ive tried to reseat my heatsink and that didnt help either still the same old results, anyone got a clue as to how to get it working or did i get a dead motherboard.

specs:

evga 650i ultra mobo
e6420 proc
evga 8800gts
2x1gb g.skill ram
corsair 520w psu
seagate 320gb sata hdd

Break it down and start over.. re-seat everything, and make sure that your ram is installed correctly.

Try clearing cmos and using only 1 stick of ram. You may have to try a few times.

Any beeps when you power up?

Do all the things said above plus make sure that the mb isn't being grounded by the case.

So reassemble the PC outside of the case and only have the bare minimum: the RAM, CPU, Video card, motherboard and power supply.

alrite thanx alot for the help guys, got it to post by taking everything out of the case and hooking it up and switching the ram around to another slot.
