New Computer, need advise

Ok I'm planning on building a computer very soon, like in the next week or so. :)
Here is what I have put together:

CPU: AMD Phenom 9500
Motherboard: ASUS M3A 770 Chipset
Memory: A-DATA DDR2 800 240pin 4GB Kit (2x2GB)
Case: Cooler Master Centurion 534
PSU: Corsair 450VX
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-S203B
OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit (OEM)
*The video card is excluded because I have already bought the HD3870

Should I spend the extra on this:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 AND Asus P5K-SE

Is the a HUGE difference between the AMD Phenom 9500 and the Intel Q6600? :confused:
Also Is there anything else I should change besides that?

imo amd is good for cheap budget computer rigs. the q6600 has good ocing potential if you get the G0 SLACR revisions. add a good heatsink with a nice fan like the thermalright 120 extreme w/ scythe s-flex 120mm fan and your set to go. if u get the q6600 get the gigabyte p35 or abit p35 motherboard because they are good at ocing. also if you have the money go up to the hx520 power supply from corsair.
 
I am not an Intel fan boy as I am currently running 2 AMD rigs but the Wolfdales are coming out soon and :eek:. I'd wait and switch to one of them, if anything the Conroes will or should drop in price.

Actually the Conroes won't drop in price. Intel is introducing the new Penryn CPUs at the prices of current C2D CPUs. So we're still paying the same prices BUT we're getting better CPUs.

Anyway, OP, muns786, what are you planning to do with this new rig? Besides gaming?
