Ok, i have 2 seperate problems.... If you could provide any help for either of them, it would be greatly appreciated.

I just got a Maxtor 200GB SATA HD to go along with my 2 160's in RAID. I have a K8t Neo FIS2R Motherboard. The 160's are on the via controller, and i just put the 200 on the Promise Controller than it has. My problem is that no matter what i do, i cant get the hard disk to show up in Disk management. I have tried installing newer drivers, different drivers, everything.
In the bios, when i select the promise controller to just do SATA, it go into some DHCP boot agent, and won't do anything. Also when i Disable the VIA controller it does the same thing, so i can only start up if the promise controller is set to RAID, and the VIA controller is enabled (i cant find different options for the via sata controller). All cables are connected correctly, and the hard disk is spinning.

And for my other problem...

I had a NEC 2500A burner, that would simply not burn MP3 files, iTunes would give me a error #4000, and Nero would get stuck at 5% everytime. I traded in the 2500 for the 3500, and still the same thing. Ive tried getting a codec pack to make sure i had a mp3 codec, ive tried really slow speeds, and different media.

PLEASE PLEASE help me, ive spent hours trying to solve this junk.

To solve your first problem, open your motherboard manual and also visit the forums and support sections for the motherboard.

Second problem, you have something else loaded that's conflicting and causing problems. I never load ASPI drivers because they cause problems, and I don't like having several burning apps installed. Pick either Nero or Itunes and rid of the other.

Are you trying to burn MP3s that have DRM or just songs that you ripped on your own or DL'd thru a file-sharing program?

The latter.

Did both, neither worked, can't find anything related to my issue.

Did you update the bios to the latest version? 1.80 is the newest. Boot and controler issues were addressed in the bios updates. The bios setup is sort of tricky but it is explained in the manual. Don't forget the sort of hidden "Boot order" settings as well.

I believe that DHCP issue is in when the bios looks to the network during boot. This too can be disabled during the boot process. When you see it flash by hit the hot keys it tells you to, then read the bottom of the screen, shows you your options.

It is a rock solid mobo, don't give up on it.

Leme know if that helps

Luck
