New build suggestions

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Daily use, web, HD video, gaming, some photo editing.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$1200 w/ tax and shipping.
3) Where do you live?
Vegas.
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
CPU, MoBo, RAM, GPU, Cooler, HDD, Case, PSU, DVD.
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
None.
6) Will you be overclocking?
Yes.
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
24" LCD, 1920x1200
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Within the next week (waiting to see what's available with Memorial day sales).
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? etc.
Crossfire, usb 3.0.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Will need to purchase a new copy of Win7 64bit.


My current system is on it's way out and I'm looking for some help/suggestions, to get the most out of my new build.
I've been reading alot of the other posts like this, and have put together a list that stays within my budget( a little bit under it).

Is the power supply enough for this build? I would like to get a modular PSU, but I'm not sure what is available that is reliable around the same price point at the TX650 V2.

The TX650 V2 is more than enough for one 6950.

A good modular PSU will cost a bit more as a consequence of having the "luxury" of removable cables. XFX sells some pretty good modular PSUs that don't cost an arm or a leg. I'd also recommend Antec except that its modular PSUs are only partially modular.

As tiraides pointed out, a decent modular PSU isn't that much more. In fact, the XFX mentioned by tiraides is only $3 more than that Corsair:

Just thought I post an update with my final build.
Everything has been ordered and the last parts will be showing up in the next 2 days.

I ended up making a few changes from the original list, due to different combo deals and sales that were available.

Case: Corsair 650D
MoBo: MSI P67A-G45
CPU: Intel I5-2500k
RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB ddr3 1600
HDD: SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 1TB
DVD: SAMSUNG SH-S243N
PSU: XFX 650X
GPU: MSI R6950 Twin Frozr III PE/OC
+ Win 7 SP1 64-bit

Total (w/ shipping&tax) $1038

The final cost was less then the initial costs I had planned for and stayed under my budget. I was able to get the 6950 as an open box, which helped allot. But then I ended up spending more for the case, getting the 650D instead of the Haf 912. I held off buying the H60 for a cooler and (for now) will be using a CM TX3 I got from a friend as a temporary part. I'm going to wait until there are some reviews of the H100 out, before I decide on that or on a different cooler (that will be able to fit with the vengeance ram I have.)
