I was trying to install Windows XP Pro when it gave me an error "data error (cyclic redundancy check)" and that one of the components Windows needed to setup could not be installed.
Can anyone shed some light on this? I am using a MSI K8N Neo4, and I am still installing XP Pro, no drivers or anything besides SATA ones installed yet. I have the drive formatted already, the error occurs during the GUI installation sequence on "Installing Windows." It says there might be a problem with the disc; try cleaning the disc or using another disc.
On the system setup log, it says Installation Failed: D:\I386/asms. Error Message: Data error (cyclic redundancy check).
