I'm looking for help with another build for my business. You guys have knocked it out of the park on all of our other builds and we appreciate it.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Small business computer that will run a point of sale and 4 HD security cameras.
2) What's your budget? $900 with shipping and tax.
3) Which country do you live in? US PA.
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, hard drives, PSU, Bluray drive, monitor.
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Just the mouse and keyboard.
6) Will you be overclocking? No.
7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? Looking for a new one.
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC? ASAP
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? Great question. this computer will basically just be running our POS and security cameras/software. Data loss is a big concern so anything that can help with that would be great.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit? I believe we have both 32 and 64 bit.

Thank you!

What's the minimum specs for the HD security cameras you're using?

Well I found the minimum specs here:
http://www.hikvision.com/UploadFile/image/2013101808045467171.pdf

SO based on the information there, here's what I recommend over blingking's build:

$116 - Intel Core i3-4130 CPU
$74 - ASRock H97M Pro4 Intel H97 mATX Motherboard
$58 - Crucial Ballistix BLS8G3D1609ES2LX0 8GB DDR3 1600 RAM
$110 - Crucial MX100 256GB SSD
$120 - Western Digital Red WD30EFRX 3TB 7200RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s Hard Drive
$56 - LG WH14NS40 14X Blu-ray Burner
$60 - Seasonic G Series SSR-360GP 360W PSU
$72 - Corsair Graphite Series 230T Black ATX Case
-------
Total: $666 shipped plus shipping.

Better quality case, more efficient and higher quality PSU, larger/faster SSD, higher quality motherboard, and larger and more reliable hard drive.

As for your concerns about data loss, honestly, there should be a separate budget for something like a file server or NAS or even at the very very least, an external hard drive. You could go with the most single reliable hard drive in the world but you're still SOL and JWF if that hard drive with the single copy of your data is gone. So if you want to avoid data loss, you need to have multiple backup/copies of your data. You should have one backup on site and another backup in another site.

BUt if $900 is all that's available for the safety of the data and the POS, let us know now and I'll do some readjustments.

I like Dangman's build.

Only thing I would do is drop the SSD and add another 3tb drive for Raid 1 (mirror drives).

Also there are several good backup services like carbonite to backup data offsite. I would use the in conjunction witht the Raid one.

This should leave about $250, which is plenty to pick up either a sell or asus 24" 1080p monitor and the OS of your choice.
