New budget build -- Help needed!

Hey guys/gals,

I'm looking to build a new PC for my girlfriend. I'm looking for reliable build with somewhat future proof build, i was thinking i3 build or something around that.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? -- Mostly Web browsing, MP3 organizing/Playing
2) What's your budget? -- About 550$ CAD before taxes and shipping
3) Which country do you live in? -- Montreal, Canada -- I like Directcanada.com ALOT
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? -- CPU, RAM, case, PSU, HDD, Mobo, DvD Writer.
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? -- ATI Radeon HD 4890 1GB, Dell ST2321L LCD screen, basic microsoft keyboard and mouse and some old speakers.
6) Will you be overclocking? -- No.
7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it? -- 23 Inches @ 1920x1080
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC? -- This week.
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? -- Pretty basic stuff, I want good board that will give me options for later.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Windows 7 64-bits

I second this build. I almost came up with a preliminary build - until I discovered that I would have ended up cheaping out quite a bit on the case and the PSU.

And I agree with you: ++++++++++++.com's Web site sucks big time. Frustratingly difficult to navigate through.

About the choice of motherboard, well looking at signatures here when you take a look at other user's rig, i rarely see Intel motherboards... That doesn't mean they are bad, just maybe unpopular choice?

Nothing wrong with an Intel motherboard, just generally they cost a good bit more than other motherboards with similar features. Therefore, we don't recommend them often. However, if they are priced reasonable, then they become a good choice.
