I know I should have done this earlyer, however; I ordered parts for a new computer and I just wanted to run them by evryone before I actually started putting thigs together to see if anyone knows of any concerns.

Here is what I have ordered:
Intel D975XBXLKR Motherboard
Intel Core2 Duo E6600 2.4Ghz
OCZ Gold 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz (2x1024MB) (O261-8016)
VGA SAPHRE X1800XT 256MB
WD Caviar 250GB SATA-3G HD 7200/16MB/SATA-3G
Cooler Master Centurion 532 Black Case w/o PSU
GameXStream (OCZ600GXSSLI) 600-Watt Power Supply
Arctic COOL Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU
Sony 16X DVD Burner (DW-Q120A-B2)

Your input is greatly appreciated.

Do you plan on heavy gaming?

if you plan on heavy gaming, your X1800XT will be your bottleneck. Other than that, that system sounds good. There's better overclocking RAM, but the OCZ stuff is decent.

I do intend on gaming on this system, howevr my thinking on the x1800xt was that i would either get a dx10 card eventually or get another x1800xt and run crossfire. I dont think I will be doing any serious overclocking and the ram was on sale and in stock that was my reason for getting it, however its the only component I have been rethinking.

Looks good.

I'm kinds wishing I had gotten the BadAxe. Its funny an INTEL brand motherboard overclocking up there with Asus as the best overclocker!! Maybe the days of Asus (back then Abit too) being the king of overclocking motherboards.

I would like to chime in real quick about your comment about waiting for a Directx 10 video card.

If anyone here remembers, it took Directx 9.1 cards and software a very long time to mature.

Same thing with Directx 10 will happen.

Please do expect first generation Directx 10 cards to be outdated before Directx 10 software shows up in strong enough numbers.

History has taught us this over and over again from one Directx version hardware to the next.

I should be able to get a lot of use out of my Quad SLI before I really need to think about getting other cards.

I relize that i might be waiting a long time hence the option for Crossfire if i feel the need.
