Network problem with my computers

I have a desktop (XP) and a laptop (Vista) and a linksys wireless router wrt54g. I connected my modem to the router, and connected the router to my desktop with a regular network cable. I found the wireless router with my laptop. But I cannot get on the internet with either computer. Any help?

Sign into the router...is it getting IP, Gateway and DNS from the DSL/cable modem?

ok so the internet is working on both computers now. but they cannot see eachother in the network. I want them to access eachother

Try and ping and make sure they can ping each other, if they cant make sure to turn firewall off.
Shares should then come up
