Adam Sandler's 100% Fresh was awesome. Some of his other movies, not so much.

I pay 17 bucks a month for a 4 device plan...I understand we all have different needs and taste in media, but personally I think its a deal at that price.
Apparently this has to do with the cost of shows. The big one for me was The AO. The end set the show up for a very different S3 and they cancelled. That said, I liked the 2 you mentioned and didn't even know SC was cancelled. At least with Travelers it had relatively decent ending (albeit one that could have allowed them to do more seasons).I have zero emotional attachment to Netflix and would not mind if they went out of business.
Too many woke specials, and too often canceling good shows like Santa Clarita and Travelers (and dozens more) just when they get going for 3 seasons.
Also, anything that gives college kids the sadz is something I'm on board with as a general principal.
They'll do better than breakeven because it'll be a whole lot less bandwidth, network congestion and CDN spend that the removed freeloaders and leeches will no longer be costing them. Big cut to overhead. If they go through with the crackdown, yeah, they'll lose some people, gain others who can't get away from netflix, and it'll break even overall for them.

Deadline describes why it's believed many of these shows get cancelled after 3 seasons: https://deadline.com/2019/04/santa-clarita-diet-canceled-netflix-three-seasons-1202602903/
Affordable, but may not be worth it for some unless you just use Netflix. Add Disney's upcoming streaming service and then you're paying even more.I pay for everything I use. Netflix is $13 a month. I think EVERYONE can afford that.
Soon we will all be dead and our kids will just be watching people, watching netflix, on youtube and twitch. Then subs will really plummet lol.
Remember what people used to pay for cable tv or dish? If you canceled that for streaming you can subscribe to several different streaming services and still come out ahead.
Seems like you define the acceptable threshold ?
I've never paid for cable nor will I (Can't stand the almost 50% adds).
I pay for Netflix and Spotify for my sister and close friend since they can't afford it. If they lock this to one IP I'll simply cancel everything.
They seem to think that they'll convert 100% of those sharing to new accounts, make me laugh... I think they may even lose more than they create.
As for canceling shows... Ive read on a handful of occasions that, much like actors demanding more money when something becomes succesful, the contracts to extend these shows gets so bloated with demands that it doesnt even make sense to try to continue it.
I have thought to myself on numerous occasions that some of the Netflix original movies that are really good should be put in theaters for a month or two and then rolled into the Netflix library of movies. Even if a show only generates 20 million extra bucks for Netflix... thats 20 million they would have otherwise not had.
Nice editorialized title. The clickbait gene runs in you quite well.
Who is your source inside of Netflix?meh as much as i like netflix i don't use it enough to justify the price so i let my parents use my account so at least what i'm spending gets used.. if they start cracking down on that i'll probably just cancel it since i'm sick of their bs 3 season limit on most of their shows.. just not worth me caring about them anymore. still not paying for disney's garbage though.
travelers being ended pissed me off to no end.. that show was actually good.
and no it has nothing to do with the cost of the shows. their argument is that "new" shows brings in new subscribers.. multi-season shows don't, they just keeps current subscribers longer which isn't important to the share holders.
This all comes down to Netflix not giving theaters a window (I think the min window is 6 weeks...maybe 3 months). AMC is a chain that wants that minimum window or they won't show a movie. I'm not sure why, since most of the money on these movies will be made in the first 2 or 3 weeks, but that is why movies from Amazon go into theaters and those from Netflix rarely do. Now what I find weird about that rule, however is whenever that Nancy Drew movie came out earlier this year, AMC showed it and it was on DVD within weeks of the initial release. As for canceling shows... This is an argument I don't get. You don't have to subscribe to these services every month. Pick one up and binge whatever shows you like and drop it. Watch another service and binge those for a month or 2. Switch to another...and so on.Affordable, but may not be worth it for some unless you just use Netflix. Add Disney's upcoming streaming service and then you're paying even more.
But that would eventually become a hassle for some. People are lazy. They want everything on one service and they want it cheap. This is an argument I don't get. Click bait? Really? It brought the article to my attention. This is the news section, if you dont like news and titles that get your attention then how about hanging over at wccftech. I see nothing wrong with the OPs choice of title. NOTHING!

I changed the title rather than closing the thread. It was clickbait and it was inappropriate. The next instance of some doing it will see the thread deleted.
Well, then I guess both of my kids (who are away at college) are gonna be real disappointed then, cause we all share the same account, in addition to the 4 Roku's at home when they are there....
So Netfilx should just give us a shared family plan & be happy, yes ?
FWIW, I think this is fine, if they drop pricing. As it stands, they're quite a bit more expensive than some of the newer services. I'm not sure how apple will work, but with D+, you're getting a huge catalog and allegedly it's all in 4K, while Netflix want's a premium for 4K.
All that said, there's no way Netflix is going away. People here may not like their content, but it's still generally got more stuff than I can watch (though I haven't watched much TV for the last month or 2, which will continue until at least December.
I have a bigger problem paying for propaganda laden origins in hopes something will stick. They never were profitable but things turned to hemorrhaging when Soros bought in and brought on Obama & Friends. Since then, the Netflix Originals list of new originals grew exponentially along with the failure rate. They already limit how many can watch at once (2 on my account) and also limit how many accounts total you can have.
I don’t have a problem with this corporate slight tightening of the typical ethical expectations of a paid service. I do have a problem with Netflix raising my rates by $2 a month every year to pay $40 million to the likes of Will Smith or Adam Sandler for seriously overpriced and under performing Netflix Original content. I’ll forgo the expensive mainstream actors and original content to keep my monthly subscription cost down please... or I’ll move on.

The smart thing to do for netflix would be to make a family share plan, give up to 4 unique login locations and profiles for say 1.5x normal sub rate but restrict to a max of 2 login at the same time.
Or like how youtube tv does it, but cheaper.I pay for 4 streams, i should get my 4 streams. What the fuck does my billing address have to do with that? Part of netflix's value is in being portable.
Also.. massive deja vu. Did ewe not go through this last quarter or something?
People can't cancel because of this since they would no longer get their exclusives. That's the game these shit bag streaming services play. What one offers the others don't and vice versa
Those who are already using Netflix less might cancel because they or someone they know is affected, but if you're someone who's sharing and not paying, you think they won't pony up the 10 bucks a month to finish orange is the new black?
Free trials left and right too, click, click, click, subbed
And then there are those of us who live in the real world. If you're too lazy to cancel a service, that's on you. If you want every show in the world on one servic,e then expect to pay roughly what you'd pay for cable with all the premiums. It's unbelievable that people complained for decades about no ala carte service. Now it's available and they're pissed that ala carte doesn't come with every show. But that would eventually become a hassle for some. People are lazy. They want everything on one service and they want it cheap.
ahem.. "There is no way Blockbuster is going away. Customers like being able to visit a store and pick a movie from their shelves. It's more than they could watch in a lifetime. (Though really I haven't rented from them for a month or 2, which will continue until at least December.)"
You see what I did there? Yea yea I know it was a combination of things that killed Blockbuster... basically netflix and the ubiquitous redbox. But Netflix has challengers to their market share already... and it's more than two.
