need your opinion for my server

This is my new server, It will handle a forum that include more than 100,000 members for the upcoming 2-3 years.. I hope so

It cost around 4700$

I need your opinion before going ahead and order it.

My current server spec.
HP proliant 360 G4
CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.40GHz (3400.14-MHz 686-class CPU) - One CPU only
real memory = 3758043136 (3583 MB)
OS: FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE

Only 2 x 73GB drives for everything? I'm assuming you're going to mirror them..

I would get 2 x 73GB drives for your OS and system and another 2 x 73s or 146s in RAID 1 for your forum databases..

Ideally, you should have an array for your OS, an array for your databases, and an array for your transaction logs..

If you can manage it, go RAID-1 for your OS, and RAID 0+1 (4 drives mirrored and striped) for your database volume, and if there's space, put in another 0+1 volume for transaction logs.

I know that the IBM x3650 has 8 SAS drive bays, so you could do RAID1 for OS and transaction logs and RAID 0+1 for the database.

I just bought ten of these puppies and they kick ass...
