I am buying a new monitor. and by monitor I mean a 32" or larger LCD TV to use for my computer. Im wondering what video card would I need to run such a large screen and still be able to game on it, without breaking my budget? (The tv is already running me 500...)
 
So it's 1080p? Pretty much any card in the mid/high range of either of the two main companies would be able to do this.

How much money were you looking to spend? What kind of games would you be wanting to play?
 
LCD TV = 1080p = any mid/high range card will work fine. The HD6850 and the HD6950 are my two favorite recommendations at their ~$140 and $230 price points vs performanace.
 
Yes 1080p, I figure if Im going to buy a TV its time to do it right. Im debating between building the new gaming rig myself, or having it done. Im not sure. I guess I dont care between ATI or Nvidia, but I hate dealing with the companies that make the cards, who is good on the ATI side? on Nvidia im a BFG/EVGA fan, since my current mobo is an evga.


BTW Im mainly FPS COD Battle field etc. But I also am a big diablo and starcraft player.
 
I would go with the AMD 6950, the 2GB's of vram will help with the larger resolutions. I am a huge ASUS fan, their customer service is phenomenal! Plus if you plan to overclock, the ASUS cards will typically OC better than the competition!
