Hey, everyone. Got a bit of a hard to decide on choice on my hands.
My current system configuration is:
Asus M3A78-T
Phenom 9750 @ 2.6 ghz (won't go any higher
)
2x2GB DDR 800
XFX ATI 4870 512MB.
WD6400AAKS
Enermax 620w
Now, obviously my Phenom is quite the bottleneck in a lot of games. So I was thinking about upgrading that. The problem is, it seems my best bet is the Phenom II X3 720, and then OC that to around 3.5 or 3.6.
Yet even so, I have to admit that Intel is plain and simply superior right now. I am also considering just buying a new motherboard and a Intel 9550, then OC'ing that to 3.5. That would surely give me much better performance than I have now.
So, my question is, is the cost of a new motherboard and a more expensive CPU worth it?
