Need to increase frame rate.

I am using a HTPC to view on demand services in the UK.

In particular, I use Netflix, iPlayer and BT Sport. All of which are through Chrome. The frame rates don't seem very good. And fast moving action like sort is choppy.

I'm using on board ATI graphics and my MB has 6gb RAM.

I have fibre optic broadband running regular over 30meg.

Do I need to use a graphics card or is there a way to smooth out the motion?

You don't list very many details on your setup.

I would suggest you install the program called Fraps. Turn on the overlay and it will monitor your FPS in games and web video stuff. Note all these services are limited to 24fps. So you can only get an improvement if you're running lower than that.

1080p isn't really that demanding, any modern built in graphics and dual core cpu will handle it with ease.

Actually Netflix on mine seems to run at 120FPS (fraps showing). Just figured it was AMD driver making it a number frame rate equal to 24 and 60 to avoid 24.

Netflix changes the framerate of their 30 FPS content to 24 FPS? Why would they do this?

Maybe a stupid question, but are you actually using the AMD GPU driver?

If you're just using the compatibility mode one that comes with Windows, I could see having this problem.
