Need some input on reworking my WC setup...

Ok so currently I'm running a single loop with only a 2.120 swiftech radiator that I got when I bought the swiftech kit about 4-5 years ago.

This is my current setup. I figure I can fit 3.120 rad on the bottom of the case without moving the pump. I could probably fit a 4.120 down there just by looking at it but I would have to reconfigure the pump to somewhere else in the case. I would also like to add a shroud on the radiator just to enhance the cooling that much better.

So it would be a single loop still. Not sure what to do with the other 2.120 and if I should consider getting a larger res.

Thoughts?

EDIT: I forgot to add that adding anything on the outside of the case is not a possibility. I want to keep everything internal. Also I was considering getting the swiftech stackable 3.120 so it would really be like 6.120 but I would loose cooling efficiency as the fans would be really close to the rad just like they are on my current setup.

Looks like this except it's just a 3.120 instead of a 2.120 and I would be running another 3 fans on top of the upper radiator. Again not sure how efficient that's going to be but just a thought.

you didnt say what you are trying to do here...? are your temps too high so you want a bigger/better rad? to me it looks like it would be easiest to either get a 3x120 (+33% cooling efficiency over what you have) or get another 2x120 and stack em like in that picture. sure the downstream radiator wouldnt be as efficient as it would be if it didnt have another radiator on top of it feeding warm air, but it would be more efficient then your current setup, and still have an edge over a single 3x120 radiator.

Ok so here's the deal. I just ordered another 5970 with the EK waterblock, and I bought the Feser 3.120 picture here.

This radiator appears to be thicker then my Swiftech one too so cooling should be more then 33%.

The reason I wanted to rework my setup is because my 930 loads around 72C which on water seems too hot given I'm only running 1.25v.

from that picture of your case it doesnt look like the radiator is getting too much airflow to begin with. is the bottom of the case open? are the fans pulling in warm case air or cool outside air? do you know what your water temp is at all?

Hiya, would you consider doing us a favor ? How about using realtemp and somthing like OCCT or Intel Burn Test or Prime95 and do a 30 minute run with your existing system and record the temps and then after you get your new rad do the same (with same CPU settings).

It would be of great interest to have the i7 on a dual rad temps and i7 on a thick triple rad temps
(include the part number of the fans so we can look at rpm differences as well).

72C is not great for watercooling under full load but its decent if you run the OC in your sig. Really curious as to the improvement the triple gets and hope you have time to post a "before and after" deal. Thanks.

There is a cut out on the bottom of the case and the fans are pulling in air from under the case.

My 5970 loads around 48C on this setup which I think is great.

The only problem with doing a comparison is that when I install the 360mm radiator another 5970 will be in the loops. But the results should be interesting to say the least. I'm primarily worried about my cpu temps. The 5970s can take a lot of heat.

Well I was able to fit a 360mm Feser in the bottom. Was a PITA but I got it done.

Pics from today.
