First the specs...
CPU: i7 930
MB: MSI Big Bang-XPower
RAM: Kingston HyperX 6Gb
GPU: Galaxy GTX460 (x2 SLI)
PSU: Corsair CMPSU-1000HX
Case: Cooler Master CM690 II
HDD: WD WD1002FAEX (x2 RAID 1)
Cooler: Megahalems Rev.B (w/ a CM 12cm fan)
I am building this system for my future step brother. I picked these parts because I have read a lot about there stability and ease of OCing with these components. However, none of the OCing features seem to be working. BIOS is up-to-date. All drivers are the latest. The system went through a 4 hour burn in test with Prime95 and Furmark without issue. I tried using the OC Genie feature but when it reboots It keeps saying that the OC failed and wants to reset the BIOS setting back to stock. After trying that a few times I disabled OC Genie and tried some of the predefined OC settings within the GUI based OC tool from MSI. That promptly BSODs and I have to reboot.
Any ideas!? Thanks.
Side note: I have been building PCs for over 14 years but am fairly new to OCing. You don't have to dumb your explanations down. I just need some place to start figuring out what the problem might be. Thanks.
