Need some help with building a WC system.

as for high flow, that pump is a danner 300 GPH at the very least, and looks more like a 500 or 700 GPH.
I was thinking the same too, restriction is the only thiong that would change the gph's. I can take the impeller into the parts store, match it up, and I would get a model number. All pondmasters pumps use a different sized impeller.

Revised the pic. You are saying like that right.
yeah, pretty much, except for 3/8" coming back from rads as well, and a Y fitting to bring the flow back together before the res, as well, if you do not get a res with two return ports.

sounds like a good strategy.

I had something better mind, like making my own ;)

Wellllll, I bit the bullet. I just bought a TDX block from danger den (they did extremely well in reviews) and got a DOUBLE bay res. Shouldnt have any problem with air with a twin bay one.

Now for the next important thing, the part that hooks it all together. I found danger den uses the tygon tubing, but its really expensive. What type of tubing do you guys use, something that wont harden over time and discolor.

Any cheaper places to get Tygon then the DD store?

Thanks!

yes, there is a cheaper place to buy tygon. you find it in the yellow pages. if your city/town has any industy at all, then there will be a hosing and fitting supply store in the industrial quarter.

I still haven't gotten all the air out of my WC system yet =(. There is still some left in the resevoir.

Thanks Daishi, I didnt think of that (I always think the only place to get stuff is online). Someone was selling it on ebay for real cheap, but they said it has yellowed because it has been sitting aroung for so long.

What pump did you get again?

And dfi, nice loop, parallel rads should work pretty well, I dont know about better than everything just running in series, but the layout sure looks cool.

I am currently using a pondmaster pump. You can get them at any gargen stores. There are also pumps calles Beckket(sp?). They work just as well, and you can get them at home deopt. Dont be surprised if you are going to spend an upwards of $70 on a 300gph pump though. I was just lucky enough to have one laying around!

UPDATE:

On top of ordering my TDX block and double bay res. I just purchased a black CM stacker tower :D. Itll probably be in tomorrow or wednesday.
I cant wait to get it up and running. Also on top of that, I got the usually sleeving kit and new 18awg wire to rewire the psu. WHy? Because I cut the wires real short to fit in my Tt case, and they would never reach to the bays in the stacker. Oh well so much for all that time and effort put into the Tt case.

So show you what the case I have NOW looks like:

Now to think if I want to sell that CNPS cooler- Works EXCELLENT for air! :D

it's just that the rads have narrower tubing than the rest of the loop, and so many passes, that i think that running the two in parallel is the only way to keep the flow from dropping to a trickle.

Im going to go with your advice, it makes complete sense.

Next thing I need to do Is make a box for the rads (external). Shouldnt be too hard.
Ovbiously this wont be used as a LAN case, so it doesnt matter where the rad is. It also will get the maxium cooliing eficency out of the case (ie, away from the warm case air).

Clean up the wiring for the WC components, it will make things A LOT easier.
WC's not going in this case ;)

On a side note, you should see how clean it really is, the IDE cables make it look like a mess, and so do the shadows created by the flash. I assure you those power cables are streteched to their limits!

On another ide note, I may go flat IDE, and practice my folding skills :D

I sure wish they would come out with a premade black window, CM forums has alot of peeps that want them, and it sounds like one may be due out soon....... I hope!

Well, this system is slowly coming along. I have a question about the coolant though.

I was testing my syste mout the other day (its not fully together yet) and put some tapwater through it. Yeah, I know that was a bad idea. Some oxidation formed on the block. Some vinegar should take care of it.

Anyway, now im putting distilled water through it.

My question is what additative do you guys use to prevent alge and oxidation? I was thinking Swiftech's HydraX's stuff, but then I came across water wetter. I found some of you dont like the water wetter because it leaves some kind of film behind?!

Can I go wrong with HydraX?
Is there anything better? FluidXP is to expensive, and I am not worried about leaks.

Thanks.

PS. Ill post pics when I at least have the system together. That's not far away. Just a few more fittings, Tygon tubing, and coilsleeves (I have some sharp bends asking for kinks).

Oh my stacker is all operational. Here are some pics. Im still on air though:

The wiring is somewhat clean. If you trace the cables with your eyes, minus the ide cables it is tidy. I may go flat IDE in the long run.

Oh yeah I forgot about that. Does anyone know if it prevents alge buildup. Seems to offer excellent protection against corosion?

Too bad its puruple. Would have liked blue. Maybe dye can get the color I want?!

Thanks Daishi!

Update: Looks like Zerex is the stuff to get.

If alge does buildup (im sure it will every so often) what can I run through the loop to clean it out? Or does alge not grow in Zerex?

treating the loop with aquarium algecide every once in a while seems to work pretty well. i use thymol crystals that i get from my university micro bio labs, and they also seem to do the job.

Im sorry Daishi,

I always type temps in as fahrenheit. So thats like 75F, 80F, etc. In celcius its ~20C idle and ~26C load.

ah.....those are REALLY good temps then.........my bad.

cograts. might want to start a fresh thread to get some exposure.

Thanks alot. I couldnt believe how good my temps are, even with an OC applied. I am still baffled over the idea that I am using liquid to cool my CPU. Ill start a new thread...

For anyone that wants to see my full WC system please go here.

Thanks for everyone that has contributed comments towards this project!
