Need a recommendation for the following setup..... Looked at the Outervision sight and the max I would need (after adding another HDD and a 4890) would be 298w...

Was originally looking at the Corsair 520HX but wondering if there is something better (and cheaper) out there.

My corsair 650tx is very quiet so I'm sure the 520hx would be too, Mushkin power supplies are generally pretty quiet, or at least my old one was.

The Antec Truepower New 550W would be a good choice, as would the Antec Earthwatts 500W, Corsair VX550, and Seasonic SS-500ET to give a few good examples.
Mushkin power supplies are generally pretty quiet, or at least my old one was.
Mushkin PSUs are pretty crappy.

Any of the corsair HX series would be very reliable and plenty quiet. I can't hear my 620HX at all. Granted, I've never considered a PSU to be something that ever really makes much noise.

Yeah well I have a 6yr old OCZ 420w that I can hear just about anywhere in my house (lightly) but sounds like a hairdryer in the office.... It is time for a new system all around anyways, and considering my 10 month old monitor just died on me I figured it was a better time than ever.

I beg to differ, mine never gave me a minutes trouble.
You probably weren't loading it to more than 40% of its rated capacity either. Just because a PSU doesn't give you trouble doesn't mean it's a good PSU. Thousands of Deer owners are proof of that.

Get the Corsair.
I've got the 550VX and it's been running strong (and quiet!) for a couple years now.
