I guess the issue then becomes getting your hands on one, though.

Acetal = plastic top
Chrome - chrome'd top
Brass = brass top.

there shouldn't be a huge difference.

i don't think there's a performance dfif .. if there is it's very very minimal

I gather the low profile version allows the user to put a PCI card in the next available slot, were the other version doesn't.
I would guess it is probably a bit smaller (the low profile block.)
