I'm currently running the rig in my sig.
x2 4400 socket 939, a8n sli motherboard, 8800GT video, antec 900 case (modded for cable hiding).

I want to buy a decent system that is a decent sized upgrade from this.
What I was thinking about :

q6600 proc
680i sli mobo of some kind
4 gigs of 1066 or 1333 ddr 2 ram
another 8800 GT for sli

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Decent upgrade from x2 4400, right?
I could use some advice on what mobo and what ram to get that would be good but not super high priced. Trying to upgrade to a mid-high end system from my low-mid system that I'm running now.
Also, anyone know if there are programs that will pull the actual windows xp key from my system? I tried something I downloaded before, but when I went to do an install, the key didn't work so it wasn't actually it. Then I found my key and it wasn't even close to what the program gave me. I have since lost the key again. I think it got thrown out.

May just have to buy another copy of XP. I dunno...

I've had some other thoughts.

e8400 wolfdale processor
some compatible mother board under 200 bux (could use some advice here)
4gb ocz 1066 ram
500gb hd

Do you think I need another 8800GT to maximize COD 4? I was looking at getting another 8800GT and an SLI motherboard, but sli motherboards that support the e8400 cost an arm and a leg...thoughts?

- What size monitor do you have?
- Will you be overclocking?

Google System Information for Windows. Should give the neccessary info. Though is your copy of XP retail or OEM?

I have an 8800GT superclock version playing COD4 on Vista 32 bit. I can go pretty high with just a single card. In Vista not XP I am not able to really play COD4 at 1920 x 1200 smoothly. If I set it to 1680 x 1050 it's alot better. The settings are mid-high with 4x AA.
The only board I see that supports SLI and the 45nm Intel cpus is the one from Asus with the 750i chipset. Price is like $150-$160 on NewEgg.

Answer Danny's questions, please.

Also,
What makes you think you need an upgrade?
What features do you need in a motherboard? (raid, firewire, 3pci slots, legacy ports, etc)
