I need a new Intel proc for video encoding purposes, what would be the most cost efficient?
would a 2.4C suffice?
Key word here being cost efficent....i'm on a budget btw i already have the intel board so no need to buy new board

1) How much are you looking to spend? 2) Socket 478 or Socket 775?
 
The prescott chips do tend to draw more power, as well as generate more heat then their northwood counterparts.
