Need input on a PSU for this system:

You'd be fine with a quality 500W PSU, but I would go with the 650W Earthwatts you linked to since it's one of the better deals available right now. The ModXStream is not a very good PSU and I suggest that you remove it from your list of considerations.

You don't already have a PC power cord lying around? If worse comes to worst, just toss one into your Newegg order or head over to a local PC store and ask if they'll give you a spare. Lack of a power cord is a pretty minor complaint considering the PSU is an otherwise high-quality unit.

True, checked on it and I have a spare

Now I'm thinking though, how is the bundled PSU with this case, I might just go with it since he needs a case too:

That case comes with a 500W Earthwatts, which is the less-efficient version of the PSU I recommended in my previous post.
This is an awesome deal:
OCZ 600w $35 refurbished

Not really, since it's a shitty PSU.

Gotcha. Effeciency aside - is it as reliable as the one you recommended? Getting it with the case would be ideal since it's a nice case and he needs one.... Though if the PSU is unreliable then there's no point.

The Antec eco 620w just went on sale for $60 also, what about it?

Still just as reliable. I'd go with the Eco 620W for $60. It's Seasonic made IIRC and is based on a modified version of the NeoHE lines of PSUs IIRC.

If you envision expanding in the future, and are familiar with the Bing/Tigerdirect cashback, you should consider the XFX 650W that is on sale for $57.50 AC/AR. Seasonic-made unit, EXCELLENT efficiency and partially modular. See also jonnyguru's review.

Pretty much the only OCZ PSUs left on the market right now are the bad ones.
The Z-series are pretty good if not overpriced a bit. But yeah, a good majority of OCZ PSUs are based on low quality platforms from Sirfa or FSP Epsilon.

Alright, will be ordering shortly. Which should I go with:

1. The XFX 650 linked above
2. Antec Green 500
3. Antec Eco 620

my bad, didn't see there was a 2nd page guys!

the Eco 620 is $60 via the newegg newsletter that came out today, all are right at the $60-$65 mark, so cost isn't the issue...

Go for the XFX if you know enough about Bing/Tigerdirect CB and are relatively lucky/good with rebates.

Other than that go with the $70 Antec Neo Eco 620C using the Newegg code (I don't factor in rebates) as the Antec Earthwatts EA500/EA500D are no longer $60.

cool, so you're saying the XFX PSU is the better of the two? I'm going for reliability...

Yes the XFX is the better of the two PSUs. However it is overkill for that setup. And it all hinges on you being successful with Bing/Tigerdirect CB and that rebate.

I have an Antec Neo Eco and I highly recommend it. It's whisper quiet and rock solid.

The XFX is definitely the best of those options. If the prices are similar, go with that.
