I'm going to be building a new comp for the first time very soon and i'm not sure which video card to get I heard that a new generation is coming out in a couple days so i'm not sure if I should wait is a saphire 9800 pro good or what?

a 9800pro is basically bare minimum
 
I don't even know what agp is but I'm making the computer from scratch and I have like 1000ish to spend not including monitor

agp= advanced graphics port (its the long slot on a motherboard) other than agp the only other "performance" option is if you build a pci-e system

if you only have 1000 including monitor just buy a prebuilt dell system and then buy an after market video card

YEah dell does have some pretty good deals but what are the benefits from buying it from them versus building it on my own ?

if you dont know what your doing its better to start by upgrading a system than building one from scratch

i say get a cheap $500 dell system with a 17in monitor then upgrade the ram to at least 1 gig then get a bigger hdd and then purchase a video card
 
It seems like the dell computer use intel processors? isn't that worse then amd

get a cheapo $40 microsoft wireless desktop (keyboard and mouse) i have one and it works great
 
are you sure i've heard bad things about microsoft mice and keyboards and wireless seems to not work that well

Not everyone has 600 dollars to spend on a video card.
9800 Pro is a good card, although XT would be the favourite, it's recommended for those who wish to play games at high performance, but not excellerated performance.

Everything I've experienced from Microsoft mice, and keyboards, are terrible.
Like, generic $5 mice, and keyboards would outperform the shit I've purchased / Seen.
