Ok im deciding to finally upgrade my PC to a dual core , PCI-E mobo, since im not totally going to do it at once my bro said there this mobo that has DDR2 and DDR slots and a AGP and PCI-E slots but only a CPU for Dual Cores, and he suggested this to me, and i kinda went for it, since i can still use my 2 gigs of DDR 400 pc3200 ram and my Radeon x1600 pro AGP card, and then later on take little steps and get my self a Direct X 10 card later on.

Here is the mobo

and CPU

and he said i need a ATX12V 24pin PSU atm i have a 450 W one
http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=17670AC3386

my current specs are
p4 2.8ghz
2 gigs of ram DDR 400 pc3200
radeon x1600 pro agp
1 S-ATA harddrive and 1 IDE Harddrive
2 IDE DVD Drivers

The only problem with that board is the fact that it's PCIe is only 4x bandwidth. If you're using a high end DX10 card (8800 for example), you're going to lose 10-20% performance by being bandwidth limited. A lower end DX10 card (8600 series maybe) should be fine, but you're still going to lose out on a little performance.

If you're going with DDR1 memory, this is probably the best way to go (2x1GB that is. 4x512 won't fit).

Well i got the mobo its underway ordered from directcanada along with the CPU

my current spec will be
Asrock pt800 ultra
1 gig of ram unless i can use 1 512 stick from OCZ and 1 gig stick thats a no name brand i got from summitdirect for 100 bucks to make it 1.5 gigs but my OCZ ram is a Dual channel one 2x512=1 gig would it matter?
radeon x1600 pro agp 512mb card
Dual core 1.8ghz e4300 cpu

Either way, it should be a nice upgrade from an older 2.8Ghz P4. With the price of DDR2 memory now, you can probably get 2GB (2x1GB) for $80 or so.
