I've gotten a Allied Telesys 9000/24 Gigabit Layer 2 switch to play with, but Ive hit a dead end.
My problem is that connecting it to my network doesn't allow me to connect to the web interface, as the hardware isn't given an IP address.
I suspect is it because the former owner didn't reset it.
The switch does have a Serial Port, I've got no means of connecting it, as all my Serial Cables doesn't fit.
So the only way is the web interface...
Could I take my Linux PC and connect it to the switch with a cable (does it have to be crossover, when the switch have auto MDx?) and then scan the switch for any interface's with IP's and if so, what utilities can scan for said IP?
or is the only way to find a Serial Cable that fits?
