1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming: BF2:BC2, WoW, Future Shooters and Future MMOs

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$1200 Dollars, Tax and Shipping are not included.

3) Where do you live?
Chicago area Illinois

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Motherboard, Processor, GPU, CPU Cooler, PSU, RAM, Case, Hard Drive, OS.

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
I am not refusing any parts at this time. I would however like to lean towards ATI GPUs manufactured by Sapphire.

6) Will you be overclocking?
Not Likely

7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
20-22 Inch

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Within a week of this posting.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
Crossfire/SLI support no other features are necessary.

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? 32bit or 64bit?
No.

Right now I am looking at:

This comes out to roughly 1200 but there are some things that I know will not work together.

This comes out to roughly 1200 but there are some things that I know will not work together.

Several problems right off the bat:

1. The mismatch between the CPU and the motherboard. You see, the i7-930 is a Socket LGA 1366 CPU but the motherboard is only a Socket LGA 1156 motherboard. The CPU will not even physically fit the motherboard's socket.

2. The hard drive. Despite its relatively quick random access speed, the WD1001FALS has a slower sequential transfer speed than most of the other 1TB hard drives on the market today - and most of the samples of that model that ship even today still use three platters (other 1TB hard drives use only two platters).

3. The CPU HSF is a bit pricey for its size and characteristics, especially since you can get a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus for $15 less while providing about the same level of CPU cooling performance.

I will let the others chime in.

Four more problems in addition to the ones that E4g1e noted:
4. For straight up gaming, the Core i7 930 isn't a good choice for the money. The Core i5 750 will be more than enough for your gaming needs and will actually work with the motherboard you chose.

5. At $320, that HD 5850 simply costs way too much money considering that there are HD 5850 cards that costs $260 these days. There's nothing to justify the extra $60 for the Sapphire card.

6. Because you're only aiming towards a 20" or a 22" monitor, a GTX 460 1GB will more than enough for your gaming needs/wants. $40 cheaper and only slightly lesser performance than the HD 5850.

7. Since you're not overclocking, zero reason for DDR3 1600 RAM. You'll be fine with DDR3 1333 RAM.

$350 - Intel Core i5 760 CPU + Asus P7P55D-E Pro LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Motherboard Combo
$75 - G.Skill F3-10600CL9D-4GBNT 2 x 2GB DDR3 1333 RAM
$220 - Gigabyte GV-N460OC-1GI GeForce GTX 460 1GB PCI-E Video Card
$145 - Corsair 650TX 650W PSU + Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive Combo
$30 - Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus HSF for LGA 1366 and LGA 1156
$70 - Cooler Master CM690 II Basic ATX Case
$100 - Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM
----
Total: $990 plus tax and shipping.

Roughly $300 cheaper than your planned setup but pretty much the same performance and actually compatible.

Thanks for the help, I went with your build Danny. I knew I was in over my head as far as bang for my buck where concerned. I only hope that this will own in BC2. Although I added the Advanced version of the case and went with the EVGA version of the GPU.
