So.. why the fuck is X using all that ram up on me?????

It's hard to say from that. If you had a really, really long uptime it would suggest a memory leak, but 12 hours is nothing. Have you tried rebooting and then seeing which application causes the X memory usage to go up?

Yeah it finally fixed itself after a reboot, but I never had it happen before. Freaked me out lol

Okay after doing some researching... it seems that Kwin, the KDE plasma window manager is causing the leaks I think...

Seems the fglrx amd driver has a massive memory leak. Welp there goes gaming.

Linux doesn't have memory problems like windows.. so I would look elsewhere..
