Anything over 85hz on my gsync monitor gives me artifacts on desktop, they look like red stripes on the left side of my display.

The monitor is advertised 1440p with 144hz refresh rate.

It is 3 years old, Acer XB270HU, artifacts have been showing up since last week, nothing was changed in my rig.

Sounds like it's dying... See if it's still under warranty. It came with a 3yr one.

Yup, vertical red lines are a telltale sign of impending death. If it's still within warranty period I'd take advantage of it.

thanks everyone, unfortunately the monitor only has 1 year warranty, I bough it December 2015.

here is what I just found out, on top of the monitor there are two ventilation holes, one on the left side and one on the right side, if you look inside, on the left side of the monitor the lights inside the ventilation hole is red, and the right side of the ventilation hole looks fine, no red lights.

the red artifacts are only displayed on half of the screen, the left side.
has anyone here seen that before?

The red light is the G-Sync module. You'll only see it on one side. Has nothing to do with the artifacts you're seeing.

Model #? All of the gaming Acer screens I've seen have a 3 year warranty. Double check it!

actually you are right, the pdf the display came with from the seller is pointless, It doesn't specify what the 1 year warranty is for, and which products.

I went to Acer website and my monitor does have a 3 year warranty, thank you!!!
