Hi all,

I got my s939 X2 4600+, and I am a bit confused as to how I can identify what core this chip is, what the stepping is, all that valuable information. Here's what I have:

ADA4600DAA5BV

CDBHE 0527UPMW

CDBHE Is the stepping and the 4 numbers is the day and week it was made i believe?, if you download CPU-Z it will tell you your core, which is probably a manchester, since its a 2x512 cache and skt 939

Thanks for the reply,

I would download CPU-Z if the rest of the computer was built at this time :)

With regard to the stepping, I was familiar with steppings denoted as "E4" or "E6", etc...what does CDBHE translate to? Also, am I to assume that this is a revision E chip since it is CDBHE?

Yeah i think you have to wait for someone with experiance :D dont know much about it, hopefully i get my new skt939 4200+ on monday

Thanks for your help nonetheless :)

Another question for anyone out there in [H]-land, if this is a revision E chip, does that mean that the issues when it comes to running 4 dual sided memory sticks (4x512mb in my case) have been ironed out?

you are correct on the revE part, but to tell the difference in E4 and E6, you gotta look at the first line. BV = E4 (manchester), CD = E6 (toledo) ;)

Thanks, (cf)Eclipse, you would think they would make it easy and have "E4" = E4 ;)

That being clarified, is E6 more "desireable" than E4?

I also read through a thread you posted a while back talking about the Athlon 64 memory controller and its' limitations when it comes to 4 dual sided memory sticks...have these issues been resolved with revision E? My google skills don't seem to be giving me direct answers...some of the things I am finding are saying you need to go down to DDR333 speeds and 2T to make it work, others say with revision E you can stay at DDR400 speeds and 2T and have everything work fine.

O i thought all skt 939s 512x2 k cache ones were manchester cores, and the 1mb x2 was toledo?
