Switched my main rig from a gaming pc to a VM server / workstation. (mostly, maybe some light gaming once a month)

Want to be able to keep my cpu as cool as I can w/o switching to water cooling.

Case: Fractal Design R3
2 intake fans from the front (gentle typhoons 1200RPM)
HSF: Thermalright True 120m (1200 RPM)
1 outtake fan at the rear. (1200 RPM)

CPU: 3770s
Mobo: Asus Maximus IV Gene-Z (z68 chipset)

Ambient: 25c
Idle temps: CPU - 40c, Mobo - 32c
Load temps : CPU - 68c, Mobo - 35c

Filters cleaned monthly
Have plenty of space behind the case.
Any suggestions?

Are we talking about a 3.1GHz 3770S here? (The low voltage version)

I've got one here in my field workstation that's just running the little round standard cooler without issue. Your CPU temperatures look to be within the acceptable range - are you actually having problems with overheating under normal use?

Edit: If you're just wanting improved cooling in general (for overclocking?), I would think almost any of the tower type coolers ought to get the temperatures down a bit, assuming you have fans exhausting the air out of the case. I cooled my i5 2500K with just a cheap tower-type heatpipe/fin thing and no fan for two or three years before I got around to putting a fan on it. Never had a problem.

Take a look at [H]'s heatsink reviews. They're pretty good about presenting price/performance/noise data.

Yea, the low voltage version.

No overclocking, just want cooler temps. This is with a Thermalright True Spirit 120.
