Need fast reply: 5700 or 9800?

I gave my friend 4 links proving my Radeon 9800 pro 128mb 256bit card is better than his Geforce FX 5700 Ultra and he still thinks his is better so guys whats better? the 5700 or the 9800?

A 5700U could maybe keep up in some openGL stuff, but even then it's usually toast.

Yeah, lol. I want some of what your friend is smoking since a 5700 Ultra is just a few steps behind the 9600XT (and there are times when it falls flat on it's face,lol).

Your friend is weird and doesn't know what he's talking about. The 9800 even beats the 5950 in a lot of cases.

The 9800 is a better card than ther 5700... a 6800 nu 128mb may be a more future smart purchase. If the RivaTuner 16 pipeline trick pans out, it will be a monster of a deal.

It is a "budget" enthusiast card, but it blows away my old 9800xt in terms of speed, quality and overclocking abilities.

hehe thx for the fast replies.... my friend keeps saying the only way to prove this is if we run 3dmark, he is still saying this even after i gave him the benchmark sites and this thread to him....

My Athlon 2000 wont stand a chance against his pentium 2.8ghz, it would be unfair since we are just talking about video cards.

Well the best test is to run a few games (most have benchmarking functions built in). Hell take D3 as a good example.

9800pro 8 pipelines 256 bit
5700ultra 4 pipelines 128 bit
