I've boiled my choices down to 2 ...THERMALTAKE V1 or OCZ OCZTVEND2

If anyone has or has had either of these coolers please post ANY pros or cons and/or experience with them. Thanks!
 
The Vendetta 2 is quite a bit better than the V1. I'm curious as to why you narrowed it down to those two options in particular though. There are other good options to consider as well, like the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 and Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer.
 
I'm still baffeld why people pick things other then the Xigmatek S128x series. Less money and amazing performance.
 
ok thanks. Which would you think is better: thermaltake V1 or Zigmatek hdt-S1283.

BTW I picked the first 2 by reading some reviews...funny I didn't see the Zig in any reviews. Now tho typing it into google I see better.
 
Isn't the OCZ Vendetta 2 just a variant of the Xigmatek S1283 anyway? And isn't the TRUE 120 still slightly better? (albeit, at like double the cost)
 
Might be cheaper to order the bolt-thru kit separately though, since that version is $11 more expensive, but the Dark Knight version does look rather cool painted black. Does this version only come with a bolt-thru kit for s1336 or what? I notice it says it'll work w/s775 as well but I dunno if that's using the push-pins or not, doesn't really list any specifics, probably have to hit up Xigmatek's site to find out. Oddly, it's cheaper too...

Edit: Hrm, looking at the site it looks like that S1283V that I linked is just a replacement to the original Dark Knight and it seems to come with clips for both s775 and s1136 (since it even mentions both on the PDF manual, which is made specifically for that version)... It's not stated outright though. Good deal if it does come with both clips though, as it's only like $6 more expensive than the regular S1283.

Ahh, duh, good catch... I was just looking at the thumbnails and I simply didn't see the one with the accessories, but you're right, they're all there. Good deal then, that's definitely the one ya want, heh. Xigmatek DK-S1283V with both s775 and s1336 clips for $41 with free shipping. :cool: It's only like $8 more than w/o the bolt-thru kit, and it does look sweet in black. Newegg oughta do something about their listing, for some reason when you search for S1283 that version doesn't show up, the only ones that show are the standard S1283 and the original DK-S1283 w/s775 clips (which shows OOS yet oddly it has a re-stock date and it's priced higher).

The OP has an AMD system listed in his sig; if that's the rig that this cooler will be used on, the Dark Knight version of the cooler will be useless since it comes with the same AMD mounting hardware as the standard version.
