need build advice Budget

Go with the brands that have 3 year warranty. Acer/Hanns-G does have 3 year warranty on their monitors but goodness they don't last that long. My brothers 24" Acer lasted one year than it crapped out also. My 28" Hanns-G crapped out in 4 months also. You can try the ASUS lcd monitors that have 3 year warranty, Samsung also offers 3 year warranty. Try and look and see what your local Costco or Sams Club store will carry on the monitors. At least you have 90 days to return or exchange if there's a defect.

question once agan for you guys sorry. i know i ask alot of question jsut trying to get the best i can for my money. motherboard wise would you go with

ASUS M4A785-M AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 785G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

or

GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard

there is a guy on these forums selling the gigabyte for 92 shipped thats why i ask

kool just what i wanted to hear. like i said im just trying to make the best choices i can for my money

Huh, just saw the price for that Asus motherboard. Ignore my Gigabyte recommendation. Unless there's a particular feature on that motherboard that you really want, there no need to get that Gigabyte motherboard. Go with the Asus motherboard.

Also there's no performance difference between the G.Skill 1066 RAM sets you chose and this DDR2 800 RAM with free shipping:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...-Pin_DDR2_SDRAM_DDR2_1-_-20-231-098-_-Product

CPU wise, go for the Asus X4 945.

SAPPHIRE 100283-2L Radeon HD 5770 1GB
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
AMD Phenom II X4 940 Deneb 3.0GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Quad
ASUS M4A785-M AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 785G

ok this is what is in my cart right now. i cannot order the PSU you suggested because its not in stock. any other PSU recommendation? i want to get this ordered tomorrow but i now need a PSU

well i was going to go with the gigabyte board for crossfire in the future. is crossfire worth it?

I'd recommend this PSU:
$80 - Antec Earthwatts 650W PSU

Crossfire wise, it's really worth it if you're gaming at 2560x1600 or 1920x1080 if you get both cards at the same time.

grrr newegg making me mad. was about to order this stuff and last night the PSU sold out now the mobo cpu combo is over. lol the mobo + cpu combo deal was 195 free shipping now its 240 if i buy seperate

ok i ordered my motherboard wich is the GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 790X ATX. i got it for 92 shipped brand new on the forums here. so now i just gotta build around it.

Whoa whoa whoa. You already bought the motherboard didn't you? Shit. If you had gone this route from the get-go we would have recommended entirely different parts. For one thing we would have not recommended a DDR2 based at all considering that you could have gotten a socket AM3 setup using DDR3 RAM for less than what you might be paying now for that Gigabyte and AMD CPU:
$250 - AMD Phenom II X4 955 CPU + ASUS M4A78-E AM2+/AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard Combo.

RAM wise, we would have also recommended DDR3 RAM as it is cheaper than the DDR2 set you're gonna go with:
$80 - G.Skill Ripjaws F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM 3 x 2GB DDR3 1600 RAM

For a Crossfire setup, you'll see a more noticeable improvement from a Core i5 setup. With that said, an AMD CF setup will be fine.

The EA650 would not be enough power for a crossfire setup like that. At the very least I would recommend a different 650W PSU altogether:
$90 - Corsair 650TX 650W PSU

The build you have now is a solid performer. But in terms of best bang for the buck and future upgrade paths as well as RAM prices, it's simply not a good setup for the money.

hey guys quick question. i was dead set on x2 5770's but now im looking into x2 5850's will the CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W cut it or am i going to need to go up to the next best?

CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V ?

I'd recommend the 750TX for that extra bit of headroom.

danny just to verify cause im ordering my PSU right now. for x2 5850's this PSU will be good power for them?

CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W or should i grab the CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W ATX12V 2.2

not ordering till i see what you have to say.

If it puts your mind at ease, go with the TX850.

But are you going with two HD5770s or two HD5850s?

x2 5850's after what ive been reading about the 5770's they are not going in my build :)

Keep in mind that the HD5850 and HD5870 will be in short supply during this holiday season, so grab them the during the first opportunity that you get.
