I built a computer about a year ago with the following hardware:

Case: Corsair Carbide Series 500R
GPU: MSI N660 Ti PE 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB 192-bit
PSU: Antec NEO ECO 520C 520W
RAM: 2 x G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (total of 16GB)
CPU fan: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus
CD/DVD: ASUS 24X DVD Burner
CPU & Mobo: Intel Core i7-3770K Ivy Bridge 3.5GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 & ASUS P8Z77-V LGA 1155 Intel Z77

At the time, I actually thought 16GB of RAM was overkill, but I've found that I'm frequently using all of it (to the point that Windows shows dialog boxes warning there's not enough memory) when I'm doing a lot of multitasking, especially when doing photo or video editing.

So I'd like to upgrade to 32GB of RAM, but I'm not sure what I should get. I'm pretty much a total n00b, so I would really appreciate any advice you might have on what I should buy :)

What OS do you have?

Also, you really should have gone with 32GB of RAM back then since RAM prices have gone up since you bought the PC. So you're going to have to pay a bit to get 32GB of RAM since you basically have to replace all of your RAM.

Highest rated and cheapest at that rating I found on newegg:

Looks like solid ram to me, and people in the reviews have the same mobo as you. That price is pretty crazy but if you gotta have 32GB I think you'll be paying out at least $260+ right now.

(Edit) That RAM I linked to also has a 15% off promo until 11/21 going right now so it would end up being $245.

I know, the RAM I purchased has doubled in price! Why did that happen?

Thanks for your suggestion. I'll probably end up going with that, then :) I can't believe it's $300, though, since my 16GB just cost me $90 bucks last year

Cool. Had to make sure your OS could support 32GB of RAM as Windows 7 Home Premium has a max RAM limit of 16GB. The RAM that nrok45 linked to is a good deal if you can take advantage of the promo code.
