Moving into a new office in 2 weeks (actually getting the office they promised me 6 months ago when I started), and I'm looking for a nice bookshelf speaker system that can:
- Have an Aux input form my computer
- Have bluetoooth
- Have a remote control
- Have reasonable sound at low volume
- Be compact
- Be reasonably priced.
- HD radio is a bonus

Primary uses:
- Music
- Meeting/webcast/podcast audio

I used to have a very basic Insignia system from BestBuy that was great, but the main box with the amp, radio, etc died. They appear not to make them anymore. Amazon shows me a LOT of chinesium garbage, which I'd like to avoid.

I'm in a similar situation so I don't have any real world testing information.

Good luck finding any non-China solution, the only manufacturer I could think of that isn't doing Chinese manufacturing is Onkyo, which is still working from Japan. Sony, LG, Philips, Sharp, Pyle, Panasonic, Jensen, Toshiba, Magnavox, and so many other names all seem to be manufactured in China now. Judging off the Insignia system prior, my assumption is your price range isn't aiming for Japanese/USA if there are any, just something that isn't crap.

Watch for the wattages below, I didn't fully read them all, some are as low as like 15W so depends on your office size and how loud you want to be able to be, oh and I forgot to check for an AUX port on all of them, even if I said it ticks all the boxes I may have missed something:

Jensen is alright, this should tick all the boxes for $80 all in.

Philips, all boxes ticked, $140 they have other options as well

Toshiba, all boxes ticked, $140

magnavox has options, I'd probably hop on one of the above options before them though, but they seem to have all the features you want:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07X7GFNS5 $65, doesn't look like ass
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07X7KWGLB/ $116 , maybe you're into this style?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07X7K6BRF/ $120

Alternatively, boom boxes are still a thing:
Sony boom box, no remote though but is $90 all-in: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00V3U5D6W/
Panasonic boombox with everything on your wishlist I think, all in $140 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09L981B1B/

Pyle is a "US" company, but the products are made in China. Return address is NY though at least, and they're fairly popular. I think I had a car unit or amp/sub from them a while ago. This one would probably fit the bill for $97: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0037WLS4U

I've also been eyeballing these lately, they're still from China but seem to be OK. They're amps with bluetooth. No radio though, you could probably get an HD radio receiver.

2.1 amp for $140, 8% coupon, has a remote and LCD screen, multiple connection options, less wattage than above but still plenty for a bookshelf style setup.

2.1 amp alternative: $90 w/ 5% coupon, no remote but does have pause/play and skip/rewind, also has USB if you wanted to store music on sticks or use a USB media player etcetera. Says up to 320 watts, confirmed with the datasheet for the TDA7498E IC which says compatible for 14-36V too and 85% efficiency, this comes with a 108W power adapter (24Vx4.5A) so you'll need a bigger power supply if you want more. Will need an rca to 3.5mm jack adapter for aux from PC, and it has output for a powered sub too:

As for speakers.... depends on price and your stylistic preferences so I wont bother recommending there. You can find a ton of quality 50W speakers that look nice without busting your budget, and that would be more than loud enough for an office probably.

There's other models of the fosi audio all over amazon too for less money or more power/features, like this if you want to look fancy with your tubes: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q26T5N7 , pyle also has a tube amp but I don't know much about it, probably about the same https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JMC6XDK/

Ugly, but works: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/165327850121?hash=item267e4eca89:g:Jq4AAOSwSUZiBNkr&LH_BIN=1

Add a laptop power brick and just about any passive speakers and you're set.

I have a similar board wired into an order picker at work with a pair of paradigm bookshelves and it shocks every coworker I've showed it to. I have a setup at home using another tpa3116 board, just without bluetooth. Should meet all your needs aside from HD radio. Inexpensive, decent quality bookshelves can be found all day long on kijiji/craigslist.

Thanks, all for the recommendations. Lots of good ideas, but not really on point.

That said, simple bookshelf systems seem to be either real expensive and not appropriate for an office building environment (i.e., too much bass) or hot garbage.
This one from rhkcommander959 is pretty close, but out of what I think is the budget range ($75ish).

Grabbed this to see if it will do:

that should have been in the op. hopefully that works for ya.
ps: thats a sound bar, not bookshelf speakers...
Yea, I know (both points).
It arrived today, and I'm... Not sure. The voice quality (for Teams/WebEx etc) is outstanding. Music is, ok. But no remote.
