Hey, I have a NEC MultiSync 1810 LCD, and when I turn it on a picture shows for about a second and then shuts off. Anyone know what's wrong, and if so how it can be fixed?

Thanks

I have the same LCD here at work, same problem.

At every resolution change it will display for about 2 seconds the go black (not just black but like off black). So at post there is a 2 second image, then black. Then at the OS splash screen I get 2 more seconds and again at the desktop resolution.

Of course it is out of warrantee so so cheap and easy repair.

Is there something I can just replace and recirculate this LCD?

thanks in advance.

I did some research and it seems like people said it was either the lamp or lamp inverter. I'm guessing however it's the lamp inverter since it does show a picture and then goes out. As for where to get one, I have no idea. Lemme know if you find any new info.

well I have another LCD that is still functioning.

I will try and swap the inverter and see if that is the correct fix and post the results and any info off the inverter for replacement purposes.

I dont know if I will have time this week to get to it though but I will try.

cool, if you need help PM me or send me an email to abcheng at earthlink dot net. I've already taken the thing apart and I know exactly where the inverter is.
