I could possibly be doing a mobo RMA in the future and I was wondering if I will be able to re-use the plastic rods that are used to mount the block? Can I possibly call corsair and ask them to send me some new rods?

They can be reused if they will hold. You can try, this has come up before.

I recommend replacing them with a more robust solution.

This works much better the picture just shows the rods but you get the rods, nuts, plastic washers and springs. everything you need.

The downside is that you will have to remove the board from the case to install them the first time. (I cut holes in the MB mounting plate so I can take the right side panel off and get to the underside of the board, a 1 inch metal cutting hole saw makes a nice hole, remove the block and before removing the motherboard mark the location of the mounting holes onto the underlying mounting plate. )

A trip to Lowe's or home depot will do the same thing if you can find the springs, they are the tricky bit. The rest of it is just 6-32 treaded rod and nuts etc. the specialty hardware drawers have nice knurled thumb nuts you can use.

Thanks for the links. Since I'm only gonna need to get the better parts if I do the RMA, i'll have to take the board out anyway. So thats not a big deal. Just curious though, which part needs to go under the board that makes removing it necessary?
