My latest external waterbox

Just thought I would post a few pixs of my latest external waterbox case. As you can see, I have a bunch of Crystalfontz displays. I write screens for their CrystalControl2 software, take pixs of the screens for their User Screens Forum and help maintain that forum.

So, for me, I had a real need for a case that would be convenient for taking pictures and I really like the concept of the external waterbox. I never really had a setup that worked well for me previously, until I found a tape duplicator case. Nothing but drive bays on the front, and a fairly small footprint for a case sitting on the desk.

So into this case went:

In Front:

- CFA-633 controlling the "LCD case" fans.
- CFA-635 to remote SCAB controlling my computer fans.
- CFA-632
- CFA-633
- CFA-631
- CFA-634
- Dual 5-1/4 bay reservoir

Inside:

- Swiftech MCR-220 reservoir.
- Swiftech MCP655 pump
- Swissflow SF800 flow sensor
- 4 temp sensors
- Colder HFC12 Quick Connects
- 3 120mm fans
- LED light array

The overall setup. Very quiet.

Just a shot of the desktop area. Very clean looking and quite functional.

An overall shot of the left side of the external water-box/LCD case. Not good on the wire management, but for me, who cares? No windows and nothing the wiring is going to interfere with from a cooling viewpoint.

And finally, a shot of the LCD case in action. Very nice looking setup. Of course, I'm prejudiced!;)

I bought some of those beverage type connectors (appear to be the same exact ones) with the built in valves but never used them concerned about flow restrictions, what is your take on them ? They seem ok ?

Yep, they are big!;) When I had everything installed in the computer case, with a single 2x120 rad, my flow rate (from the Swissflow sensor) was 4.9/5.0 LPM.

On this setup with an additional rad, extra hose length, and the quick-connects, the flow reads 4.0/4.1 LPM with the MCP655 pump.

The external box concept would not be very feasible w/o the quick-connects. Fluid loss is minimal when you take them apart.

So, anyway. Yes, they seem OK.:)
