My Growing Nvidia "Collection"

I've bought a few used cards over the last couple months. I just realized every video card I have now (since I got rid of my 9500 pro and Radeon 7000) is nvidia based. I have the following cards (slowest to the fastest):

I have nothing against ATi (except their shitty Linux driver support)...but it seems I like Nvidia a bit better ;)

RE_EDITED>>>As member (cf)Eclipse was kind enough to remind me, my camera has a macro setting...bad, blurry pics are fixed...hit your refresh button if necessary :)
 
same with me. ive only gone near Nvidias, unless you count a crappy ati rage integrated 8mb graphics system on a p2, and thats the way i like it! ati is great, but they have zero new agp solutions at the moment for around 160-200 bucks. they dropped the ball and Nvidia picked it up and ran all the way to the bank

All four of the older cards were purchased used. I bought new a TNT2, Geforce [1] DDR, Geforce3 Ti-200. I then went to a 9500 pro and liked it quite a bit...but I switched back to Nvidia for my 6800nu...mostly because ATi just doesn't have (or had) anything in the $250-$300 range that could compete with it.

I've owned both :D I don't really care for either one, just gimme best bang for the buck (like 6800gt for $300 back in July 2004 ;) )

I hear ya! I've had:

Riva 128 card (some Diamond card I believe)
GeForce (SDR)
GeForce DDR (returned above and got this one)
GeForce 3
GeForce 4 Ti 4200
GeForce 4 Ti 4400
GeForce 4 Ti 4600 (got this from RMA'ing the 4400 when they no longer made them)
GeForce 6800U

Since building my own rigs (starting back in 95 or so), the only other vid cards I've had were a Voodoo I and II with my old Diamond Stealth Video VRAM card, a Voodoo 3 V3000 and an ATI 9800 Pro.
 
I have a brand new Asus 6800GT AGP I never used still in the box. I was building my system and bought that, when it came time to put new puter together I couldnt send it back and I needed PCI-E....paid 418 at newegg for it. I am building another puter but that will be a DFI SLI board. Accepting offers..........................

Yeah...unfortuneately I sold my Gainward GF3 Ti-200....I loved that card :(

hey.. I got a Riva128 in my video card bin! I dumped it for a TNT card since the quality sucked on the Riva128.

wow (sheds a tear) ... reminds me of... me. heh... minus the 1mb cirrus logic vesa local bus card I had first...

I still have my velocity 4400 "TNT" 16meg APG... my first AGP card. w00t... I have three 6800GTs now... one AGP and two PCI-E versions... :D

I know...it has no manual focus...I've tried adjusting the settings and that's as good as it would get...need a new camera.

oh snap!! I have one of those also... forgot about it... that sucker did OpenGL (ran quake II with a patch) and direct3D... that was the start of a lot of Nvidia goodness. :)

Nope...there was a card (NV1) before the Riva 128. From what I've heard...it was a POS.
 
Hmm a trip down memory lane... see if I can remember...

Not counting my laptops, I've had...

1. Number 9 669(?) forget the exact number (Retired)
2. Diamond Monster 3D (Retired)
3. Diamond Monster 3D II SLI \ ______> Still in my Duron 1.3 machine Win 98
4. Winfast Geforce2 GTS /
5. Geforce4 MX (came bundled with a SONY system I got extremely cheap a while ago and still in it 1.8 GHz P4)
6. ATI Radeon (7000 series I think; Used for the livingroom TV machine 1.1 GHz P3)
7. ATI Radeon 9500 ->Hardmod 9700 Pro(In this machine Dual Xeon 2.4GHz: HUGE bang for buck)
8. ATI Radeon 9800Pro R360 -> 9800XT ( Ath XP mobile @ 2.5GHz @ stock voltage with Hauppage PVR250 : Video cap machine)
9. ATI Radeon X800Pro VIVO -> X800 XT-PE (Thank you CompUSSR! In my A64 CG 3400+ 1Mb @ 2.5GHz 1GB BH5 : game machine, though I haven't been doing much of that lately.)

I've been consistently using ATI as of late but that will probably change. I probably forgot a card here and there but above are the ones I can remember off the top of my head. I was probably influenced in my latter choice of cards by the success of the 9500nu card.

Yep it was the plain Riva... I ended going with the Monster 3D (3dfx Voodoo) at that time.
