My GPU is killing the Fans

I have a 2 CM 690 Cases. One is using Corasir TX650 GPU and other one using Corsair HX620 GPU. Apart from the default CM 690 120 MM fans that comes with the case I have additionally fixed 2 additional 120MM fans on the roof of the case.

Now after 6 months or so I realized that Fans that are connected to MotherBoards's 3 are fine, but the fans that are directly connected with the PSU are dead. In both the Cases the Default blue fan that is cools the hard disk is directly connected to the PSU and those fans are dead in both the cases.

Since Corsair produce world class PSUs, so I don't think PSU is responsible for killing these fans. So what could be the reason?

Hmm, considering that the dead fans are the front fans in question, probably a QC issue man.

What is QC? In my main rig not only the front fan, there are only 3 ports in my mobo in which I can fit the fan switch, Out of the 2 fans that i've placed on the roof, one is connected with mobo and other fan is directly connected with the PSU and that too is dead.

What is the solution to this QC issue?

quality control (QC) - try contacting Coolermaster. No personal experience but some of the better manufacturers are really great about helping you out.

Cheap solution would just be to replace the fans as well.

p.s. by the way GPU is your Graphics Processing Unit, PSU is your power supply.

Sorry for that silly mistake. Overall I meant the PSU is killing those fans which are directly linked with the PSU. But the fans which are connected with Mobo pin are still alive

A bit fartfetched man. Think about it: Where does the motherboard get its power from? the PSU. If the PSU was indeed killing your fans, it would also be killing some of your other parts as well. As such, if the PSU is actually killing your fan, then it's a sign that you should RMA the PSU

But again, a bit farfetched. More than likely it was a QC issue in which a few hundred bad fans slipped past QC. Only way to know for sure that it was the PSU not causing the issues, get new fans and see if they die out or not.

It could also be you improperly connecting the fans to the PSU. maybe a molex pin wasn't in all the way or something.

Sorry I didn't meant to oppose what you suggested. You are right. Corsair are world class PSUs, the PSU is not responsible for the death of those fans.

I looks like the problem is with the fans only, because those are all Coolar Master fans that died, and the OEM does'nt hold any warranty for these fans.

He's not trying to chastise you or anything- objectively, chances are really low that the PSU's molex leads are killing your fans and not anything else.

A quick test is to switch the leads your fans are plugged into.

it's likely that the fans just wore out. from what I know, coolermaster uses some pretty low quality sleeve bearing fans, though their cases are still pretty awesome at their prices.
