Ok so basically I roughly a $1500-2000, and I have a parts list but this being a first build I am not quite sure if everything is good.

I plan on overclocking a bit, and SLI is needed (In the case of changing parts)

Any feedback will be very helpful.

MoBo- ABIT IP35 Pro
CPU- Q6600 Most likely G0 Stepping
Case- Cooler Master 690
CPU Cooler- TT120
RAM- G. Skill 4gb (2 x 2gb)
Video Card- EVGA 8800GTS (G92)
PSU- Corsair 520w Power Supply
Drive- LITE-ON DVD Drive
HDD - Seagate 7200.11 500gb HDD

I will need a few fans as well I am not sure which ones would be good.

Total: $1328.90

looks good pretty much what i am getting, are you going to want to do any overclocking? if so people here say to stay away from the 680i chipset and go with the P35

I will but i am not quite sure what p35 board to get that is the problem

Get a better cooler like the Ultima-90 or Tuniq 120, the 9500 is pretty loud under load. Anything 120mm will be much quieter.

That motherboard has pretty crappy reviews, so I would consider getting a P35 type motherboard unless you are really dead-set on running SLI.

Wait for a rebate on that case, I got mine for $20 last week. Same for the hard drive, I wouldn't pay over $100 for 500gb nowadays. Maybe it's just me, but I thought that you could get 2GB of DDR2 now for under $30....check out the Hot Deals section and I'm sure something will pop up.

What size monitor do you have? Unless you have 24" or 1920x1200 monitor, don't bother with SLI. If you do have 24" monitor or play at 1920x1200, wait. Wait until Nvidia releases their new 780i chipset which will have proper support for Intel's new Penryn CPUs and hopefully better overclocking ability.

As for which P35 mobo to buy, here's a few recommendations:
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Intel P35 Motherboard - $86
Abit IP35-E Intel P35 Motherboard - $90
Abit IP35 Intel P35 Motherboard - $120
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R Intel P35 Motherboard - $130
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P Intel P35 Motherboard - $145
Abit IP35 Pro Intel P35 Motherboard - $168
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 Intel P35 Motherboard - $175

Just to help you out: If you don't need RAID, more than 4 SATA ports or legacy ports, then the IP35-E is a good choice. If you need legacy ports, than the DS3L. If you need firewire and RAID, than the IP35. If you don't need firewire but want 8 SATA ports, RAID, and legacy ports and high overclocks, than the DS3R is a good choice. If you want the DS3R but need Firewire, then go for the DS3P. If you want something that can overclock pretty damn high, than the IP35 Pro.

Avoid that HD. It has firmware bugs and it is not as good as some reviews claim. Get a Hitachi or Samsung.

First off the drive is great and all you have to do is go download the newer firmware.

And as for keyboard/speakers/monitor I do not need. But a mouse I do.

Just want to make sure that you know this but only Nvidia based motherboards can use SLI. No Intel chipset based mobo can use SLI.

Ya i decided against SLI because if i want better i would just gget a new card.

Ok 2 things
1. Will it fit in my CM 690 Case
2. What fan do i need for it.

Also could you recommend some case fans for me for the top slots in the CM 690.

Ok then i will take your advice and go with the TT120 should i upgrade fan in it ?

I will also Get a few Yate Loons.

Upgrading the fan is easy, so you can do that later if you don't like the stock one. The stock one works fine for me. Though, my Ultima90 performs nearly identical to my Tuniq, yet its smaller, lighter, and easier to install. Just tossing another suggestion out there:

$46 - Thermalright Ultima 90 CPU HS + Panaflo Hydrowave Fan, FBA09A12M - Z ($3)

BTW, you don't need Ballistix for a Q6600. I'd go for 4GB instead, if you wanted to spend ~$75 on ram:

$37 - STT DDR2-800 2GB (128x8) S-RIGID Memory (Super Talent, single stick)
$37 - STT DDR2-800 2GB (128x8) S-RIGID Memory (Super Talent, single stick)

What is the timing for those because the reason i got the Crucial was it overclocks very well.

Thats what I'm saying. You don't need highly overclockable RAM with a Q6600. There's no point in running the RAM higher than a 1:1 ratio since that will yield little to no performance improvement on intel platforms.

/*------------- <cut n paste> -------------*/
Formulas for Intel platform @ 1:1 settings: (base FSB speed is SDR, or single data rate)
(CPU Multiplier) x [Base FSB speed] = CPU Clock speed
2 x [Base FSB speed] = RAM speed (DDR: double data rate)
4 x [Base FSB speed] = Effective FSB speed (QDR: quad data rate)

On Intel platforms, running the RAM higher than a 1:1 ratio with the CPU is, for the most part, useless, so don't bother trying to do so. If the BIOS does it for you, just let it. All you need is a 1:1 config, though. Here's some possible clock speeds (as always with OC'ing, your results will vary):

Q6600: 9 × 266 = 2.4Ghz, DDR2-533 << STOCK speeds
Q6600: 9 × 333 = 3.0Ghz, DDR2-667 << Nice OC
Q6600: 9 × 378 = 3.4Ghz, DDR2-756 << Good OC, near max for B3 stepping
Q6600: 9 × 400 = 3.6Ghz, DDR2-800 << Great OC, near max for G0 stepping
/*------------- </cut n paste> -------------*/

As you can see, even with the Q6600 OC'd to 3.6Ghz, you won't even need to OC some DDR2-800 RAM.

You won't notice the difference between CL4 and CL5, unless you're running benchmarks (and even then, its negligible), so don't pay a huge price premium for lower latency.

Now, if you had a CPU with an 8x multiplier, and wanted to go higher than 3.2Ghz, I'd suggest those Ballistix (if you wanted 2GB) or these, if you wanted 4GB:

$130 - G.Skill 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2-1000 F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ

But like I said, you don't need that high speed RAM with a Q6600. If you plan on upgrading to the Q9450, then maybe you should consider it.

ok so if i get 2 of those 2gb sticks then i should be able to get to 3.4-3.6 ghz easily?

Yes, with OCing, YMMV. Or basically luck of the draw. You may get a Q6600 that can only hit 3.0Ghz or be lucky and get one that can do 3.6Ghz.

Let's say it like this: IF you cannot get to 3,4-3,6GHz on DDR2-800 memory then it's the CPU and not the RAM stick that are holding you back, also regardless of whether your CPU wants to go to that range or not, consider if you wouldn't prefer a bit cooler system around 3-3,2GHz. I know it's fun to see how high you can get on OC's before you chicken out on CPU voltage :D , but once you have proven that you can indeed get to 3,6 or whatever then finding a good cool OC may be a better way of prioritizing (I like 8x400 for everyday OC)...

Good way of putting it. I agree, I don't run my core2 chips at max OC 24/7... gotta love EIST.

Yes. Clubit.com guarantees the G0 stepping, so you can get it from there.

Does any1 know how many fan headers there are on the Abit p35 pro board, and if I will need a Fan controller for about 4-5 added fans.

It has 3. 1 for the CPU fan and the other two for whatever fans you want. If noise is a big concern to you, then yes get a fan controller. I recommend this fan controller:
Sunbeam Rheobus Fan Controller - $13

However if you don't care too much about noise, then don't bother with a fan controller.

The Specs of Mobo

Well my issue is will the mobo accomidate 4-5 fans with about having to buy a fan controller.

And at AandTech it says it has
Fan Headers 6 - (1) CPU, (1) System, (4) Aux

Oops. Off by that. I was looking at the layout of the mobo. Missed the other fan headers

Yes the mobo accommodate 5 fans since it has 5 fan headers set aside for extra fans.

Ok was just making sure.

Good News all parts will be ordered due Christmas time.
And should i get 4 120mm Yate Loons or 140mm?

The 140mm Yate Loons are twice the cost of the 120mm Yate Loon. Yet the only thing you get for that extra price is a little more quiet. If you want quieter fans, then go for the 140mm. If you want best bang for your buck, then go for the 120mm.

Ok sounds good but where can i get some fan screws because the Yate Loons don't come with any.

And I appreciate all this help.

if you are swapping fans with the original case fans just use the same screws.

No i am adding 2 on top and on taking 2 drive bays, fan mod type thing, and one incase i want at bottom

hmm just go round to a local computer store they should have a few.
