My E6600 stepping ?

I just got my new E6600 from newegg and its FPO Batch#: L637F036 .

If I understand that correctly its stepping F o_O. So is this a new stepping and is it good or bad :confused: :eek: .
 
Well at the top of the page it only tells me how to find the week which is L637 so week 37 but is doesn't tell me how to find the stepping. Also I don't see any E6600 with my week the closest was week 36.
 
That database has not been greatly updated except for the 4300 info, most of the info was from the sept to Dec time frame when we were all having a big time with our new toys.

Very little info or even mention of C2D steppings on this entire site. Frankly dont think that there has been a bad batch yet. But nonone has done a real analysis either.

So I cant really tell you much other than now that you made note ot it, let us know how it goes.
 
cpu-id will give you stepping and revision. Quick google of
6600 stepping" gave me no results like "xxx stepping sucks" etc. and I surf most of the tech sites and forums. Really think I would have seen something. /shrug.
 
I got the same 6600 from NewEgg too. Ive been stable at 9x333@1.3 for a few weeks. 8x400 worked too but I decided to back down a little.
 
The general consensus with the "F" chips @ XS are pretty darn good:D Run COOLER, and use less Volts like the "B" chips. Remember "B" chips take less volts but run warm, "A" chips run with a 'little" more Vcore then B series chips, so "F" chips are a combo of "A" and "B" chips:) . Or at least this is my take on it.
 
Just got a L639F034, runs VERY cool at stock settings.I can't say about the overclock yet as I had to RMA my Corsair ram, 1 bad stick,so both had to go back:( . I'll get to play around with it next week if my ram get here.I was pulling my hair out trying to figure why system would not post,tried ram 1 stick at a time and found the bad one! I don't think quality control is what it once was!....................:(
