MX700 & Gaming Performance?

I have had no problems using the MX700 for gaming except that I normally don't use a mouse for gaming. I usually use my trackball. It's a little awkward for me to use a mouse. I have found myself using the MX700 every once in a while when I've been using the mouse for normal stuff and just go into a game on the spur of the moment. I forget to grab my trackball and just start using the mouse. In those cases I have had no trouble whatsoever. I notice no lag and it tracks just fine.
 
Well I can say that MX510 is much better. It's weight is smaller cause it has no batts. And the annoying cord problem I solved it with a "cord holder"(by Steelpad).
I use MX510 and Icemat black 2nd ed and I can say that it is one of the best gaming combos I've ever used.
 
Love my mx700 for gaming......that is why I have 6 of them... I wish they would hurry up and bundle the mx1000 with a keyboard...

Yeah, I currently have the MX510 with a Ratpadz GS. It's ownage... but I need the freedom of a wireless keyboard+mouse combo.

I guess I'll wait till the MX1000 gets bundled w/ a keyboard.

I have to agree. I use a MX510 w/ a func surrface 1030.
 
I have an MX1000 and absolutely love it. some people dont like it beacuse of the weight due to the batteries, but I actually like the weight of it. And there is no lag from it being a cordless mouse. Best wireless mouse IMO. But you cant go wrong with the 510 or 700 mice either.
 
if you're one of those people that doesn't mind playing at 30 fps with 4xAA , go ahead and use a wireless mouse. otherwise it lags to hell.
 
I agree, I like a lighter mouse for games. I still use my Logitech dual optical for games... my mx900 is primarily used on my powerbook(I stick it in my backpack), but I do use it when I'm not gaming. I keep my wired gaming mouse in my drawer
 
Had an MX700 since it came out and love it! I actually like the extra weight, and battery life is excellent, never had it run down yet.

Like the colors of the MX510 but hard to go back to a cord!
 
Had an MX700 for about a year now. Awesome mouse, NO problems at all with lag or anything like that. It is heavier than a normal mouse due to the batteries, but I love the fact that it's a tad heavier. Makes it easier to move (for me anyway).
 
thi think the mx1000 is better for gaming than the mx700 if u like lighter mouses. because i went from the mx700 straight to the mx1000 and this is lighter.

obviously you havent used an MX700 or 1000. I by no means get any lag. I had a MS Explorer optical mouse before this one (usb btw) and the MX1000 is actually better and more acurate. I also tried a MS wireless mouse, and yes that thing was awfull!
 
The Logitech MX series of wireless mice use what Logitech calls "FastRF"

The mouse updates at exactlly 125 times per second. Which matches the speed at which matches the speed at which USB polls input devices. It updates as fast as a wired USB mouse, thus no lag.


I actually use 1000mAh AAA rechargables in my MX700. It doesn't last as long as the 1600mAh AAs that come with it, but its MUCH lighter The stock charger seems to have no problem with them.

With the AAs I usually got about 5 to 6 days, with the AAAs I get about 3, on a few occansions I almost made it 4 days. And even after I get the low battery warning I can go at least 2-3 more hours before it stops completely.
 
MX1000 user here and gaming has only improved over my MX700 experience. I would never buy a corded mouse again.

I highly recommend buying the MX1000 over the MX700 if you can. It is just that good.
 
The mx-700 has pretty noticable lag if you are at all sensitive to twitch gaming. I havent used the mx-1000 so I cant comment, but I would assume it has a similar lag.

Go with a non wireless mouse if you game. Yes, many people mention they have no lag whatsoever. However, I'm guessing its more of a matter of sensitivity than anything.

It is fine in games but I prefer the MX510 over the MX700 because the MX700 is too heavy for me. That is one reason I hate wireless mice.
 
Best mouse i Had. Nice and comfertable. only problem like said is the weight. but what i find helps is that if you get a enw mousepad thats clean so it glide across it easier

Are you joking? Is that why I still blow up every Quake III server I play in with my MX-700?

The only problem I have with the MX-700 is that every now and then, maybe once every few days, when the mouse is still, the cursor moves up ever so slightly, but stops once you touch it again. Not a big deal at all.

If you can tell a 1/125th of a second's worth of lag (the refresh rate of the mouse)... for the rest of us, it's great. Honestly, those of you with lag... well, it smells like user error to me. I have both the regular and bluetooth models, and they rock my face off. The "extra" weight of the batteries is no problem for me, as I feel it adds to my accuracy when sniping, and doesn't burden my fast movements at all.
