mx518 mouse skates...

if i ever wanted to replace them, would i place new mouse skates over the olds ones..or wait till the old ones fall off???

I can reassure the quality of those skates. I use them on my logitech mx310. The reviews say they have to be replaced every month but I have been using the first 4 I installed for 3 months and they are still going strong. (lasted longer than my original mouse feet) Just make sure you only buy them out of necessity, like when your mouse feet do fall off. These won't provide any performance boost.
 
I wouldn't. Just apply the new ones over the old ones. Take off the replacement skates when they're worn down and replace.
 
ok, i only ask because i spoke to a couple peopel and they said just take the old ones off...that would also void a warranty right..?

Uh, it makes no sense to leave the old feet on. You pull the old feet off, and put the new ones in their place. If you place the new feet over the old ones, your optical sensor will be farther from the mousepad, and wont track as well.
 
like less than a 1cm...not that much...the picture doesnt show how thin these skates are... they are very thin
 
The new ones aren't any slicker. They are only meant to replace the old mouse feet if or when they fall off.
