Well, looks like my all time, never fail, always be there by my side, greatest mouse ever, is going bad. I got the MX510 the week it hit my local best buy, to replace my MS inteli 1.1. Been using this baby hardcore the whole time, for the first few months it was on a Ratpadz, (bye bye feet). I then put it on this wonderful fUnc pad smooth side. So i think i've got it made with my mouse and pad. Wrong!

First off I am not one of those people when they get mad at a game and slam their mouse. So about 3 months ago mouse button 4, the default 'back' button decides it only wants to work about 20% of the time. That's ok I can deal with that. Now today, i go to click one something and what happens... Nothing. Hmm so i try again. It works. So im testing it out and im just single clicking around, and what happens? about every 10 clicks the button doesnt work, and about ever 15 or so the mouse will Double click it self when i only click once. So, how are them new Razers? Or should i stick my logitechs side?

Yeah I was gonna say. It should still be under warranty. Most components are covered under at least 1 year.

Im really thinking im gonna buy me a razer at a gamestop or something. there is a lan tomorrow and i dont wanna go there with a mouse thats about to be completly dead.

Its a great mouse....it takes alittle getting use to, but after about 2-3 weeks you will see how truly wonderful it is. I have it turned almost all the way up now =) When i first got it, i could barely go over half the up.

The razor diamondback is better than the MX510 /518?

Thats news to me...

How does it fit in your hand as opposed to the MX510

Wait for the MX518. All the performance of the MX1000 in an MX510 shell.
Mmmm...wired goodness. :D

Honestly guys...800DPI is plenty, cause if you use a mouse thats beyond that there NO difference...that shit is total marketing.
I say this cause myself and a friend of mine tested 11 mice this week for a ad campain and your only throwing money out the window thinking your going to get better tracking on a higher dpi mouse. I thought the same till we test the first few mice.
The only problems that did happen with cheap mice with a dpi of under 600 was they would loose track if you were gaming and moved the mouse to fast. They would leave you looking straight up or down.
Anyway...don't waste money and have a great day!

this is an absolute crock of shit.. You simply cannot go thru 11 mice in one week, and give them a good review.. Mice can be extremely different and can take some time getting used to. That and you must be a low sens player, as 1600 DPI is FAR better than 800.. 1600 isn't enuff IMO, as I could definately stand to have a higher resolution mouse..

It comes done to this. with 1600 DPI, you can move the cursor over the screen in less distance. This allows you to not have to use mouse acceleration or to increase sensitivity artificially through software.. You can play with the mouse with a 1:1 ratio for mouse drivers, and have full precision..

Anyone who says 800 DPI is enough, either didn't have their 1600 DPI mouse set up right, or is a low sensitvity player. Coming from an 800 DPI mouse to a 1600 DPI mouse, there is a CONSIDERABLE DIFFERENCE.. This is not subjective, or up for an arguement. It is fact. Plain and simple. But you do need to have your system setup properly to get the full presicion, and speed of a 1600 DPI mouse.
