What are the must have DS games that you guys/gals recommend?

Also - what are your favorite DS accessories and what is your favorite case? I am looking for a nice case right now

I bought the DS for my wife. Aside from games, the web browser is pretty cool. So easy to flip it open and check the headlines while watching TV. Lotta news websites have a mobile version (idrudgereport.com). Great for the truely lazy.

New Super Mario Bros
DK Jungle Climber
Zelda

Super Mario Advance games

Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow
Castlevania Portrait of Ruin
The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass

Flash Cart + Homebrew (I recommend M3 products for the cart.)

Zelda is by far the best game I've played on the system. It was just fun, as the integration of the touch controls and the mic where flawless. I loved it.

go with the r4 , way better for the update

Hori screen protectors.

They are the best brand by far. Without screen protectors you'll have lots of scratches on your screen in no time. Don't buy the ones they sell at Gamestop, BB, Walmart, etc. You'll hate them because they come preinstalled with creases and scratches. You can find the good Hori brand ones at Fry's Electronics, or online at www.decalgirl.com.

Decalgirl has some really nice vinyl skins also if you like to customize your game systems. I thought it would be cheesy, but actually their skins are really high quality and durable and look really professional. They look like they're part of the system and don't use any glue. I've had mine a year and they haven't moved or peeled at all.

I'd definitely pick up Piccross DS, Brain Age 1/2, Final Fantasy 3, Zelda, New Super Mario Bros.

THE BEST cases I've ever seen/owned/held are made by Hori and are pretty much only available from shops in Asia. Make sure to check out play-asia.com and stay far far away from any place based out of China or Hong Kong.

Screen Protectors are also a must -- Target should have some, Hori also makes the best ones ;)

I won't get into it but check out the R4 for DS, you won't look back... (these you usually get from china/HK!)

Sonic Rush is pretty fun. I really enjoy the sudoku included in Brain Age. Otherwise, Zelda is amazing, one of my favorite Zelda experiences thus far.

Meteos is pretty fun. Look it up. :)

New Super Mario Bros has a bunch of fun minigames also.

Hotel Dusk: Room 215 is a fun adventure game.

And of course, Tetris DS.

R4 or M3 card, whichever you can find. As for games..

Advanced Wars
Worms 2
Zelda
Tetris
Mario Kart
New Super Mario
Nervous Brickdown
Mario Luigi Partners in Time
Kirby Canvas Curse
Big Brain Academy
Pokemon (if that's your cup of tea)

Games noone else has recommended...

MegaMan ZX
MegaMan ZX Advent
Contra 4
Lunar Knights
Electroplankton

Games I 2nd recommending... (in no particular order)

Tetris DS (WiFi online)
Metoes (Damn them for no WiFi)
New Super Mario Bros
Final Fantasy 3
Sonic Rush
MarioKart DS (WiFi online)
Brain Age
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin (WiFi online)

Contra 4 is must have. Buy it the second you see it.

Game - Hotel Dusk : Room 215
anything castlevania, and phantom hourglass.

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl

^^^^ This kept my sanity through my Freshmen year of college.

sorry, but where do you get the web browser from?

Other accessories you may want to look into:

- Carrying case (hard/cloth, as long as it keeps your shiny new DS scratch free)
- Screen protectors. Just like the ones you use on your cell phones.
- Screen cleaner cloth. Jabbing at the touch screen all the time will no doubt get smears all over the place.

how do u browse the web? something im missing?

I've really enjoyed "Boulderdash". Perfect for when you're stuck on a bus or train. A bit unforgiving in the time-limit department maybe.

Forgot to mention that Orcs and Elves is fun. It's a simplistic, turn-based, dungeon-crawly, action-rpg. It's like if Hexen was turn-based (ish) :) Anyway, I thought it was a lot of fun.

It's sold everywhere just like games. It's not downloadable software or only available from one place. It's a real product from Nintendo/Opera that you'll find anywhere.
Actually, the Nintendo DS browser has been discontinued, so it might be hard to find in stores. If you really want it, though, it's easy to get on eBay.

Couple of games that I got into recently.

Dementium The Ward, is pretty fun FPS horror.
Geometry Wars Galaxies, aint half bad.
Advanced Wars: Days of Ruin

Pheonix Wright: Ace Attorney is a must if you can find it...it goes for about $20. (get the first one, as each game builds off of the previous games). Buy this game purely for the awesome cases and funny dialogue...it's a must try for every DS owner out there.

Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. Just came out, and is definitely an amazing game if you like the strategy genre at all. Gets pretty difficult though.

Mario Kart DS is great, and probably the best Mario Kart out there. The only problem is that racing online sucks, because most players use a cheap exploit called "snaking", and you won't stand a chance.

Picross DS...probably the best puzzle game on the system. Great timewaster.

New Super Mario Bros if you can find it on the cheap. Not the best Mario by any stretch (that title would belong to Super Mario World, IMO), but it is a great return to 2D platforming. There are a few addicting mini games that come with it as well...the mole whacking game in particular is quite fun.

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl if you want a very good grinding game. This one will keep you busy for a long time.

Elite Beats Agents is a pretty fun rythm game. If Circuit City sells it for $9 as reported, it's a must buy.

Castlevania:DoS is a fun game...though I never finished it.

LoZ : Phantom Hourglass is OK. The controls are fantastic, but the dungeons really, really suck. They all feel like cheap and easy tutorial dungeons. Also, after each dungeon, you have to return to the main dungeon of the game, and go down it an extra floor each time (while having to start from the beginning). What's worse is, the main dungeon is purely stealth based gameplay, like seen in the original Wind Waker. Apart from the awesome controls, I think this is a pretty bad Zelda. You'd be far better off buying Link to the Past, or Minish Cap on the GBA.

Final Fantasy III is pretty bad as well, IMO. You're much better off getting FF IV - V - VI on the GBA. VI is by far the best one, get it now if you've never played it!

Oh, and Contra 4...if you're manly enough.
