That wouldn't help the poor at all. You could give the people in a third world country millions of dollars and it wouldn't help them at all, unless they used that money to get out of there.

What poor people in 3rd world countries need are mass vasectomies so that they stop overbreeding while having nothing to eat at home. That may sound callous of me but its the truth that not many are willing to face.
 
why even bother guys?, it was their card they can do with it as they wish. most of these posts are about people who wish they could have that card and why destroy it. Free country, if they want to destroy it then go ahead...i wouldnt want anyone to flame me for what i decide to do with my stuff that I paid/or didnt pay for. Point is its mine...and as far as the video goes...welcome to the internet, home of videos of everything.

Your right its a free country. However, its just annoying how someone can possibly destroy a $500 or $600 hundred, when there is so many (non-selfish) uses for that money.
 
Firstly anyone with half a brain wouldn't destroy a working 6800.

Then again its Driverheaven and therefore quite possible that you couldn't account for half a brain among all the people over there.

I really dislike people like that.....no wonder the world is so f---ed up.

There's one major flaw with this argument. It's wrong. Yes, overpopulation is a problem. But stopping it will not solve the underlying problems. Think of it as a symptom. Anyone with any development geography/economics knowledge could tell you that.

No, what they need to do is overthrow their leftist governments that are legislating them into poverty. I think this discussion is better left for another thread. I'll let you have the last word, or feel free to pm me to further discuss it.

I think everyone REALLY familiar with the situation knows they need to...
1) ...overthrow their existing governments
2) ...at least be INTRODUCED to birth control. Condoms, pills, whatever - SOMETHING. Their population growth is WAY out of control.
3) ...have some powerful first world nation take some responsibility and bother to do some (NON-RELIGIOUS) education work over there so they have a shot at improving their lot in life long-term

Without literally all three of these things happening at once....they are pretty much doomed

I've just downloaded their video 19 times. I won't watch it though, I just want to waste their bandwidth and cost 'em money (seeing as how they like that so much). I encourage everyone else to do the same. :)

Would someone care to enlighten me on what the point of their... exercise was? There's no explanation on the thread. I fail to see the logic of running over such an expensive card. It must be defective.

I dunno what the labelings mean, but is Zardon one of the mods? If he is, then that has got to be the worst mod i've ever seen. YOU DO NOT REVEAL ANY KIND OF INFO ON YOUR USER! Fake or not, whether the user is a jerk or a saint. The user database is sacred and anything like he just did is taboo! He's comprimising his forums integrity!

Bragging how rich your site is doesn't help either.

It did get my attention tho, so the publicity stunt worked.

just like they are free to run over the card others are free to criticize it :)

personally I don't think it matters one way or another as it was their card and they are free to do what they want with it, though if I were going to kill a card I'd at least try to do something useful with it that serves a purpose (like running the 6800 in a case with no HSF playing Doom3 and see if the card kills itself or gpu throttles). plus, the video probably served as entertainment for their forum as it is an ati fansite.
