Hi [H] Team,

I am building my boss a new computer since his is 7 years old and out dated. I was comparing some of the pre-built systems from Dell and Bestbuy and figure I could build one cheaper without doing to much work. Haven't been keeping up with what's out there I put this quick system build together. Mainly for web base programs, basic Corel and Photoshop work. Also be able to handle lots of open programs simultaneously. Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated.

Thanks

It would help if you answered the stickied "ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS FIRST!" so that we can help you better.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing?
Basic Photoshop/Corel. Web base programs, lots of multitasking.

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
As low as possible, less than $1,000 for the whole desktop.

3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
California

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Open. Would like it to last 5-7 years. Parts are listed in first post.

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
None

6) Will you be overclocking?
No

7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
Do not have one, but thinking around a 20" monitor.

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Soon as I figure out what parts I should get.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? etc.
None of those special feature, but USB 3.0 would be nice since that is were things are going.

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Will be purchasing one. Win 7 64bit Pro

- PSU wise, I recommend this better quality PSU instead:
$60 - Antec NEO ECO 620C 620W PSU

If you want a modular PSU, I recommend this better quality modular PSU:
$80 - SeaSonic M12II 520 Bronze 520W Modular PSU

- RAM wise, I recommend this slightly cheaper but similar performing RAM instead:
$44 - G.Skill Sniper F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR 2 x 4GB DDR3 1600 RAM

I recommend getting two of the above RAM sets for a total of 16GB.

- I recommend this mobo + OS combo instead since the mobo is slightly better built, comes with an Intel NIC, and is cheaper once you factor in shipping:
$223 - Intel BOXDH67BLB3 Intel H67 mATX Motherboard + Windows 7 Professional 64bit OEM

IMHO, if you are building this for your boss & you wanna have a job afterwards, do NOT buy that POS keyboard/mouse and monitor.

I've had both & they are C R A P....... After 2 days with them I literally wanted to throw them out the friggin window

There are LOTS of much better products available in those price ranges or just lightly above that your boss will like much better, last ALOT longer and keep you employed too...........

Although I agree with the other poster's recommendations & most of your other choices, I would HIGHLY recommend that you visit a store that sells computer stuff so you can touch, feel & see all the KB's, mice & monitors they have, narrow down your choices there, and then buy them online..... Also if by "multitask" you mean running multiple apps at the same time and/or several app windows open, be sure to go for a widescreen monitor in the 22" -32" range.......they make life SOOOO much better !

good luck with your project ;p

Thanks for the tips. Hahaha. He wouldn't fire me because of those things. I figure this would be better than his Dell keyboard and mouse that is 5+ years old. But definitely noted on a better keyboard, mouse, and monitor.

I am trying to order my stuff from amazon to save the tax and I have prime. There are some stuff that or either higher or I can not find so I choose substitutions. Will these work fine as well?

Also the case I orginally picked seems to be sold out at newegg and amazon wants double the price for it. Any suggestions for a comparable case?

Thanks

Thanks, I didn't even notice the ram... maybe I should of looked closer at the image as well.

How good is that 450 true wattage PSU?

It's a good PSU. Otherwise I wouldn't have recommended it
